I am brand new to this site and found all of this thread very helpful!! Our wedding date is April 26, 2012, at Aventura Cove and I am such the planner that waiting to know details in driving me crazy! Does anyone have any information that they could send me? I am very nervous also because we have a VERY small wedding attendance, which is what we wanted, but not really sure how it is going to work. It will be just us and 3 other couples. Any ideas on how to arrange our evening/event? I would appreciate any help or information you can help with. klepper.jennifer@yahoo.com

I am brand new with a wedding planned on April 26, does anyone have any information they can share with me in regards to the details, options, locations and things of that nature? Our WC never responds and explained that I needed to wait until 60 days out before I review this. It's making me a little anxious!

Abby, I don't have a map of Aventura, but I honestly wouldn't worry about it. I initially wanted to include one in our welcome bags also, so I just waited until we got to the resort because they have maps already printed there. Also, upon check-in, there is a map included with your room key, so I didn't even put any in the welcome bags then because everyone got one when they checked in. I was SOOO worried about all the little details before I went and honestly, when you get there, you forget about everything!! I was regretting bringing so much stuff along with me because the resort was beautiful enough on its own and there was always so much going on with all our family and friends there. SO if I could give one word of advice, DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! I know it's easier said than done, but trust me, once you are there, all the little details will fall to the wayside and you will just want to be having fun with your family and friends.

I ended up packing stuff that we didn't end up using anyway...and let me tell you, that trip through the airport with all that stuff was NOT fun! We even had 6 people with us on our flight and I still brought too much stuff. So just thought I'd mention that.

Jennykay and other newbie brides...I would DEF read through this entire thread...it is VERY long, but sooo helpful!! I spent so many hours when I first joined the site just reading about what all the other brides had to say. It was always nice to see other people's pictures to get ideas. I know exactly how you girls are feeling right now with all the unknowns and not knowing what to expect. I was just in your position not too long ago! If there are any questions or any specific pictures of the resort you are looking for, just let me know, I may be able to help!!

One other word of advice, DON'T believe all the tripadvisor reviews you read. I spent so much time stalking tripadvisor for months before our wedding and was so nervous because of the reviews. However, we were completely blown away by Aventura, as were our family and friends. I think alot of those tripadvisor reviews are bogus or people are really hard to please. Everything we experienced was fabulous:)

Also, if anyone is interested, you can find some of our wedding pictures on facebook...it's under Amber Miller Snyder. If you go to my photos there is an album called Amber & Matt's Wedding. I also have TONS of other pictures if there is anything in particular you are looking for, just ask!

Hi Jenny,

I am a bit nervous as well. I picked Palace Resorts for a few reasons, I am staying/getting married on the Cove Side, however I have never been there to visit. Reading these forums really puts you at ease about the whole process, however when I go read tripadvisor, just to see normal traveler reviews, it makes me very nervous. Most of these ladies are saying great things, so I have trying to avoid reading trip advisor. I just hope things go well and my guests are taken care of!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
