Welcome Nikki! You will LOVE Aventura!! A lot of great ideas/advice on this thread, so definitely start from page 1 and work your way through the thread - it's definitely helped me with the planning and answered a lot of my questions!

Any hints or tips would be great!

Hey Ashley!!  To be honest, my husband, myself and all of our guests didn't mind at ALL that there wasn't a beach.  You can still relax in lounge chairs and look out onto the ocean, you just can't feel the sand between your toes and jump through the waves. If you really want some sand time, you aren't too far from Playacar Palace -- which makes for a nice day trip.  I thought the food there was great!!  I don't remember having one thing (besides room service unfortunately) that I didn't love!

Hope that helps!

HEY

Good question!!  I was just about to ask the same thing!  My family does a beach vacation at least once a year and this is something i was worried about also!  I read that the beach like area is more like pebles then sand... Is this true???  I really love sand and im just worried that some of my guest are going to wonder why they are at a beach wedding with no beach....  feedback.gif

MissNikki, to be honest, when we went to visit Aventura, the 'beach' was definitely PEBBLES and not sand. This was something that I was a bit disappointed with. The pictures are very deceiving and make it look like sand; however, it is not soft...it's more coarse and kind of hurt my feet to walk on. HOWEVER, with that being said, Aventura has so many other great and positive things about the resort so we decided to get married there anyway. The pros definitely outweighed the cons!!! Also, Playacar Palace is about 15 minutes away and has an awesome beach, so you could take day trips there. We considered getting married at Playacar instead, but it didn't have many of the things we were looking for in a resort (besides the beach being beautiful!) The pools at Aventura are awesome too so that helps with the 'no beach' situationcheesy.gif

MissNikki and Ashley, I agree with what the other ladies have said - at first, I was concerned with ASP not having a beach and we were planning on having our wedding at Playacar. But after doing our site visit, as much as we loved the beach at Playacar - we found the venue space at ASP to be better (in our opinion). The guests will be a short shuttle ride for a day trip to Playacar's beach, but ASP is a GORGEOUS property, with lots to do, and great venues to choose from. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi ladies!! I am currently at Sun Palace soaking up some sun.

My brief review....everything was amazing!! Cristina did a great job of setting it all up the way I wanted. I got so so lucky. I rained Thursday and poured Saturday but was absolutely beautiful on Friday!! I road up to the coba gazebo in the carriage with my mom, she walked me down the path, the my dad walked me down the aisle. The whole ceremony was beautiful. Food was delicious and the reception was a blast. I just got the DVD delivered last night. I was mostly happy with it. David and the entire bridal party danced down the aisle and the videographer got most of it but when he edited it he threw in a repeat piece of video that didn't go with the song playing. That was the only bad part. Oh and the fact I look 20 lbs heavier on camera. :( so weird but oh well. ASP was beautiful just like everyone has said. I can't wait to go back. Very sad it will be Hard Rock. I think it's going to ruin its charm. Oh and La Luna is AMAZING!!!

Anyways...we fly home tmrw and I don't go back to work til Tuesday so I have plenty of time to post pics, write reviews, etc.

HAVE A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

Hello All

Sorry about my little freak out!  I have talked to the resort coordinator and i get to use the Diamond Package that i want !  Ya me!  Apparently 2012 brides can choose between the new and old packages!!  thank goodness! I was not willing to pay 4500 for the pure package just to get what i want!

Quick question,  Do you where arm bands at this resort??  I know that at the dreams resrot you dont have to!  just wondering :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
