Since you were just there I'd like some advice.

You might remember that a while ago my father was not in the picture so I originally had my mom walking me down the aisle and riding in the carriage with me.  Now he is in the picture and I am not sure what to do.  I thought about just making the whole trip solo to avoid any issues but I really want my mom with me in the carriage ride.  But I don't want to upset my father.  So this is what I was thinking and I want to know what you think since you were just there and can envision it.

What if I had my mom ride with me in the carriage and walk me all the way to the front of the gazebo (I am so afraid to walk that loooong walk alone LOL) and then I will stop and she can walk down the aisle and my dad can come walk to the front of the gazebo to come get me and walk me down the aisle.  Will that look funny or awkward?  Or maybe I can have him just standing at the edge of the gazebo to begin with so I don't have to wait for him to walk down.  Honestly what would you think if you saw that?  Weird?  Cute?  I am so confused!!!!

Hi Taryn!

This is what I would do.. First off. the walk is not long at all... I was walking really fast and everybody tried to slow me down :) I had my Maid of Honor ride with me in the carriage since my parents couldn't be there. It wasn't weird... it was great and I wouldn't have done it any other way.

I think in your situation it would be good to have your Mom ride with you in the carriage, she can help you get out ( I had 3 photographers and 2 camera guys on me while I was getting off- probably that's why I was in a hurry to reach the gazebo!) Then you can do 2 things: either have your Dad wait at the bottom of the steps, open the carriage door for you and walk with you and your Mom- all of you guys together, I think that would look beautiful ! or you can have your Mom walk you to the front of the Gazebo steps and your Dad can walk with you from there. It will be beautiful!!!! no matter what you decide!!! :)

Taryn, not sure if you want anyone else's opinion, but I think it would be great if BOTH your Mom and your Dad walked you down the aisle (as long as they get along enough to do that!) I have seen plenty of people do that and it looks nice!!! I wish there were enough room in the carriage and I would take both my parents, but thats not the case. So I would have your Mom ride with you in the carriage and your Dad can meet you at the steps or the gazebo and walk with you then. This is all so exciting to think about!!!

Edyta, the pictures you posted so far look absolutely gorgeous! I'm hoping to have our cocktail hour at the Cove Terrace as well, so it's nice to see pictures of it set up. One question, do you recall there being any place that paper lanterns could be hung on the Cove Terrace? I bought all these paper lanterns and I'm not sure if we can even use them. It just looks very open, so I feel there may not be anything to hang them from.

Also, one question for you Edyta...did you have an issue on the Cove Terrace with it getting dark? I think the sunset time in November is pretty much the same as in December when I'm getting married. I was just worried about it being too dark...but it seems that she set up lights for you correct?? I just didn't want everybody standing around in the pitch dark...

Thanks for your opinions ladies.  I asked my mom a while ago if she would walk with my dad and she said "NO" with a nasty look on her face.  But that was a while ago and maybe she will change her mind.  I told her what I was thinking about doing last night and she was ok with it.  So we will see what she thinks of continuing to walk down the aisle with me and my dad.

Thanks again girls!!  I appreciate it.

Hi Guys!

As far as the Cove Terrace goes ... We had it scheduled to start at 5pm till 6pm, it was during sunset so it looked beautiful. They set up the lights for you - so no problem with that! I did not see any place to hang the lanterns from but I would take them anyway- maybe they can figure something out for you!

Also anybody that would like to se more pics from the resort and the area please feel free to befriend me on facebook... I will have some reception and ceremony photos from a friend of ours added tonight too, unfortunately have to wait awhile for  the professional pictures:( On facebook my name is : Edyta Klos, city: Orange Park, Fl.

Any other questions please ask away...:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
