sxcT- I cannot believe you leave in just 4 short weeks...that is sooo exciting!! I can't wait to hear all about it since we are only a few weeks after you:) Are you having a symbolic or legal ceremony in Mexico? Just wondering bc you said you have your court/paperwork signing this Friday...

I still have some things to put together...OOT bags, luggage tags and pre-travel info for guests, raffia fan programs...I have been trying to put this stuff off until the end when I know exactly how many people are coming. I have a feeling that if they haven't booked by now then they aren't coming!

I just had my bridal shower 2 weekends ago and I'm still trying to find space for all the new stuff! I have many boxes to take to the salvation army to donate...we have such a small house that we don't have enough room for the old stuff and the new stuff.

Marteeni should be really closed to leaving right??

We are doing the "paperwork" here on Friday and then doing the symbolic ceremony in Mexico.  Just wanted to make the process easier.

I have most of the OOT bag stuff bought and the DIY stuff put together but I need to actually lay them out, see what I have for each bag and figure out if I am missing anything....oh and take good pictures to share with all of you!!  :)

And something that keeps slipping my mind....I need to send out the pre-travel brochures and luggage tags.  I'll probably do that next week.

I am so excited about this weekend...but I honestly can't wait to have it all done...especially the BD shoot.  It will mean I am just that much closer to heading down to Mexico!!  woot.gif

I'm getting really excited too! I leave in 11 days! This weekend  I checked off quite a few of the last things I needed to do. Got my table numbers and place cards done, made my bridesmaid tanks, made my raffia fan programs, and finished up the last minute guest wedding and hangover kits. I am still stressing about parents gifts though! And also need my fiance to figure out his best mans gift, which means I'll be figuring that out. I also still need to pick up some lingerie for the wedding night. I need to get give a list to our dj for the first dance/cake cutting etc music. Also still really on the fence about making an appt to get make make up done at the spa at the resort or going to the MAC store down there. I am actually pretty good at doing make up so worst case I can do my own, just didn't want the stress of it not being perfect lol. I also need to figure out how I want to wear my hair, have a rough idea in mind, just not sure if the resort will do it justice. Ahhh I cannot believe its just a week and a half away before I'm on a plane. One last question, are you guys putting your OOT bags together before you go down or after. I have the wedding survival and Hangover kits all assembled, but i thought it would be easier to pack everything else separately and put it together once I'm down there.

Yay ladies!! So excited for you all!!  Alysa, I assembled my OOT bags when I arrived.  It was MUCH easier packing everything where I had room and putting it together there.  After lunch on the first day my matron of honor came back to my room with me and we sort of made an assembly line and were done before we knew it!  I took some of them back down to the pool to give them to my guests, and gave the rest out throughout the day whenever I saw everyone.

Yay Alysa!!  I am so excited for you.  I really hope I get to hear from you before I head out on the 14th.  Glad to see you got a lot of things checked off.  I agree with Jess - putting them together once you are there will make packing so much easier.  The bags will lay flat and then you can just pack all the items on top of them, hopefully all in one suitcase.  At least, that is my plan.  :)

Thankfully my BM is a prof makeup artist so I have that covered.  I decided to book Adrian for my hair to make sure it looks the way I want it to....and stays.  LOL  I am very happy with that decision so far. Crossing my fingers.

My checklist seems pretty manageable right now.  I know the last few weeks will be crazy.  Thankfully David will be out of school (masters) the first week in Nov so I will finally get his undivided attention haha.

Well....it's official. Aventura is being converted to Hard Rock, ALTHOUGH phase 1 not to begin until Fall 2012 (whew!) While I'm relieved it doesn't affect my wedding, I sure hope they reached out to their Fall '12 brides!

:o(  bummer...at least it is after we go for our anniversary...although, I hope renovation isn't a problem!!!  Looks like they will be combining Cove and Spa again -- probably adult only?  http://travel.usatoday.com/destinations/dispatches/post/2011/10/hard-rock-hotels-plans-mexico-all-inclusives/555138/1

I'm so bummed about this...we absolutely loved this resort...it really was a spa like atmosphere, and it will definitely lose that with hard rock

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
