You're welcome :o)  Thanks so much!  That is great that you got them to do that.  In reality, it's free with resort dollars, so definitely worth it.  I was disappointed with the lighting mostly...and the fact that they didn't capture me and my dad in the horse and carriage, but I'm still really glad we have it for memory.

I am so excited for you!!  We plan to do the same thing next November.  We head to Sun Palace for our honeymoon after Aventura this year so we will probably try out another Palace resort next year....maybe even the DR one.  :)

So exciting Jess! And just THINK how much less stress you'll have planning that trip to ASP vs. the wedding :) I've heard great things about Cozumel Palace, so it's fun you are switching up the resorts too. Thanks as always for sharing your experience and insight!

Yeah!!  I know, we are excited to be able to go and just truly relax and enjoy ourselves.  Even after the wedding was over we still kind of felt like it took a little while to "wind down" so we are really excited to go again and to spend some time at a different resort.  My husband loves snorkeling, so we are going to do a lot of that in Cozumel..maybe do a resort scuba dive... you can use your resort dollars to swim with stingrays there too!

My TA just got back from a site visit to the Palace Hard Rock in DR and RAVED about it! So much so that we thought about splurging for flights & switching our honeymoon to go there haha....anyway, I'm sure you're focus is 100% on the wedding, but here are her pics should you want some Palace DR eye candy:

Hi Sachele,

Just to throw in my 2 cents. I am having a violinist play. I picked a total of 10 songs from the repertoire Cristina gave me. Just tell your WC that you would like to have somebody play and they will arrange for that. As far as the vows go... I submitted my own vows and there was no problem with that. Their script is very dry and cookie cut so you might want to research your own vows. Actually I think there is a specific thread for that on here.. Probably the other girls who have been here longer know more.. good luck!

I definitely think that it was a beautiful addition to our ceremony.  I had such "tunnel vision" that I don't really remember even hearing it, but my husband said it was really nice and I got a lot of compliments from my guest.  Plus they added harpist music in my wedding dvd for it.

I didn't pick any songs, I just let him play whatever.  I do believe I have heard of people picking specific music to play though?  I just told my WC that I wanted a harpist and she took care of everything.

As for the ceremony, here is the standard script that they use --

I brought a sand ceremony script that my matron of honor read in addition to that, but I think if you wanted to add more you could.

I see you had the harpist, was it worth the money?     Did you pick the songs for him to play... and how did you get in touch with him?  Also for the ceremony, do i have to bring my own readings and  for the officiant?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
