Glad to see everyone's planning is going well.

Edyta - will you still be at the resort when I get there or will you be gone?  We arrive 11/15.  I'm going to guess we will probably miss each other by a few days/week.  Hopefully I can get you to give me a quick update once you return just so I can get some insight on what the latest is.  Glad to hear you have gotten some things checked off.

Now that we just got the wedding bands, I ordered the BM dresses, bought my jewelry and we received our toasting flutes and cake cutting set in the mail this past week....I just really need to focus on the OOT bags, the items going in it and the last minute DIY projects.

FI had 3 friends book yesterday - one being a groomsman!!

He was so happy.  He was always worried about having a destination wedding because he thought he wouldn't have any friends there and in the end it looks like he will have a small group of his friends and I won't have any of mine.  Haha go figure.  Oh well....its still what I wanted.

And for you past brides who knew about my situation with my father (don't think any of you new brides do) - I have some very big news!!

My father called me the other day after 1yr and 9 months of not speaking and he said he wanted to put this all behind us, he was very happy for us and he wanted to have dinner with me and David this week.  WOW!!!  I was so happy to hear this and even writing it right now gets me a little emotional.  So he said he and my step-mom, my aunt, my uncle and his wife and possibly my cousins from his side will be coming to the wedding!!!  So I will finally have my whole family there...I'm so happy.

Hi Taryn,

I am so so so glad your Dad and your family is coming!!!! It will all work out, just like I told you... see! I know you must be very, very happy!

Yes, we will miss each other..I am getting there Nov 2nd and flying back Nov 9th, but do not worry... I will post everything, good and bad as soon as I come back so that you know the ins and outs. I always follow through, so I promise you will know the details:)

After I come back, I will have about 3 weeks to plan the honeymoon activities in Europe, which will be a pain..renting cars, currency exchanges etc but as always I will manage:) I think this trip will be much worse to plan than the wedding trip...

Oh another thing is: I just got info from WC stating that all spa treatments have to be canceled 72 hrs prior to arrival at the hotel and paid for the moment you check in. If not.. the reservations will be canceled. Just heads up!

I will have overlays, runners, chair sashes- all satin in royal blue. If you need to add some color to your tables, I think it would contrast well with turquoise.. I can leave it all for you. If you don't use it then maybe we can find another bride who can? I will have some table decorations- centerpieces that have turquoise and teal in them- they are wreaths made from real dry flowers- beautiful! But will not be dragging them back, so you can have those, too.

My wedding coordinator is Cristina- I would just leave it with her.

I guess you just reminded me of a cake topper:)

for our planning we have the rings, both custom final approval was done last week, we have the gown the bridesmaids dress and the grooms attire.  We are having a mayan ceremony, so I located a shaman and went through the process to have that included at the resort, it was alot more complicated than I thought it would be...sigh.  The decor is being handled by vania at zuniga, and she seems very cool, we are getting married on the Maracas Inlet, After reading all the info from the photographers on here I decided not to have the wedding in the gazebo, plus the Shaman prefers to be close to nature.  There will be a palm frond runner, flower petals around the inlet in the center of the inlet a flower petal designed sun...the ceremony will be held in the center of the sun.  Now that is the plan we shall see if it happens.  The OOT bags I made I purchased the big ticket items for the people I really thought would come, I put together bags for the people I know are coming and then made ten others for just in case, we have a lot of time, but I have surgery on Sept 8 that is going to take a lot of time to recover from so I need to be ready now!

We just booked our honeymoon (Grand Velas, just up the street from ASP) today - yaay! I'm going to pick up my dress this weekend (whoo hoo!) and look at BM dresses. Right now trying to decide between Fernando and MVP for makeup/hair, trying to decide if I want a videographer, deciding if I should go with JSAV (ASP's preferred DJ) or Mannia or Doremixx, etc., and just trying to get in shape for my boudoir present to the FI ;)

I would LOVE to start the OOT bags, favors, etc. but I have NO idea how many ppl will be coming - how are you ladies handling this with the guests that are dragging their feet to book?

I still need to : buy FI a wedding band, my jewelry, BM jewelry and their bouquets..., part of my favors just arrived and the other will be here on Thursday so then I will need to put those together. Other than that I need to work on vows still and then itinerary of the extra trips we are going to take. I actually just send out the invitations yesterday with a RSVP date Sep 10th :) These took forever but are absolutely beautiful, so worth the wait...! I honestly feel like I still have lots to do but on the other hand I will have had only 5 months to plan it all... Happy Planning everyone!

Hi Sachele,

Yes, we will be there at the same time. Nov 2nd- 9th is my time frame. My ceremony is at 3pm and I do not know whether to choose the Coba or Talumn? I will decide once I get there, I put Coba on invitations just to say something...lol

Are you having a welcome party? I am doing mine at the Cove Terrace on Friday night. Where are you having the reception? I haven't picked the spot yet... too many options...Suggestions?

Would be really cool if we could meet up during our stay...

Thanks Edyta!!  I am very happy.

The spa treatment thing is definitely news to me.  That seems a bit stressful to try to figure out but oh well.  I plan on making them and keeping them.  :)  Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Edyta,

I'm having the welcome dinner at the Mundaca steakhouse. My reception will be at the Maracas Terrace, I heard from past brides that Mundaca Steakhouse was really good. Since i have kids coming i can only stay on the Cove side.  Yes, we can meet up, that'll be nice!

Who's doing your hair/makeup?

My bridemaids color are cognac from David's bridal. I'll be wearing the same color shoes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
