Thanks Sach!  I have no problem answering any questions :o)

I did want to post a few specific pics for you guys...

Here are two of the three wedding gazebos...I didn't get over to the tulum gazebo with my camera though :oP  The tulum gazebo has that white fencing around the entire thing, and is ALL the way on the far side of the ASP resort.  It is definitely private, but is not up against the water like the other two...and it has a green fence to the left of it.

COBA:  (I was not thrilled by the big white box!?)

CHICHEN GAZEBO: (where I ended up switching to)

AND....this is now how the Pandero Terrace looks:  (it lost its roof completely!!)

This is how it was decorated for my cocktail party...they only ended up using 1/2 (7) of my lanterns

I like the chichen gazebo also...I think the bridge is cool! What happened to the roof of Pandero??? I liked it alot better before! It still looked nice though with the way it was set up for your cocktail party:)

Question for you, since you ended up changing the location of your ceremony, didn't you already have info made up for the guests with the ceremony location already printed on them? I was wondering how this would work if you already have things printed and then change them. You obviously need to give your guests a wedding day itinerary I would think, with locations and times and such...

Amber:

The bridge is actually what I liked so much about it.  Plus there are no walls to the gazebo, it is completely open to the air.  I have NO clue what happened to the roof!?!?  I really liked it before too.  I took a picture of it and showed it to Wilma at my wedding meeting, and she claimed she had no idea it looked like that now!?!?!  When she emailed me a diagram of how we would hang my lanterns, she definitely didn't send me a picture like that.

I did give my guests an intinerary, but what I was lucky with was that I had my welcome cocktail party the day I had my meeting, so when I was thanking everyone for coming and handing out our wedding party gifts, I let everyone know that the ceremony location had changed.  Since the Chichen was right near the Pandero, I just sort of pointed it out!

Hi Jessica,

Thank you so much for such a detailed review. Very helpful. I have a question about your OOT bags... Did the guest like them? Were they useful or expected? I decided not to do them and give guests favors from 1.Poland- since that's where I am from 2 US since FI from there

and Mexico since that's where we chose to get married. I decisded not to bring anything with me on the plane and am having it all shiped to the resort ( cheap!). I love your decorations- did you bring them with you? Or they supplied them? Thank you !

kloos -- honestly, I think my OOT bags were hit and miss...some of guests really appreciated them and some of my guests I didn't see using anything.  I had a few guests carrying the mugs and key card holders around, and quite a few of them used the tote bag and tshirts.  I'm honestly not sure about the other things?  I think it would be fine to do without them too!  I actually found it really hard once we got there to decide how to get them to everyone.  We were lucky to have a small group that hung out all the time, so I really just brought most of them with us to hand out at various times.

Sach -- you could do the piano terrace or the spa terrace?  They both look a lot like the chichen gazebo.  Did anyone ever send you the private events document?  That might help you in deciding. I was pretty upset how the pandero looks now too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
