YAY you found us LOL!!

Well don't stress out.  Even tough there is a lot to do it all comes together rather quickly.  You are very lucky to have so many guests booked without sending out invitations.  We are begging our guests - especially our bridal party - but they are such lazy procrastinators.  I would definitely start with the invitations.  Get those done and out of the way because the rest is pretty easy.  Has Yesenia sent you the booklets with all the locations, decorations, menus, etc.?  Most of us have a wedding coordinator already even though they say you won't get one until later.  Once you start asking Yesenia questions she can't answer she refers you to your wedding coordinator. :)  So I would take a look at those things and try to narrow down were you want the ceremony, the cocktail hour, reception and all that fun stuff.  I know it will take days to do this but you really really should read thru this entire thread.  There are so many questions answered, pictures of locations, pictures from past brides weddings, reviews and so much more.  Keep asking questions and we will all help you out.  There are some checklists floating around this board as well and they are very helpful.  I didn't attach it because you probably can't open it until 150 posts.

So anything else figured out?  BM dresses?  Groom's attire?  Private reception or just dinner at one of the restaurants?  Centerpieces?  Flowers?  I bet you have some things you know you do want or you know you don't want.  That's a good place to start.

Thank You!!!! No, I haven't been to Aventura but a couple of my friends have... and said it's beautiful, too! Yes, I do have the ceremony dress and a reception dress, 2 pairs of shoes and a potographer booked. And that's about it :) Oh and so far I have 26 people booked. I have no idea who to use for make up, do you know of anyone in particular? Is the resort staff any good?Oh, and after seeing their wedding photos' samples- I immediately hired somebody else... lol I don't think I can do all the crafts and cutting but would appreciate a good site where I could order my invitations from... Thanks again for the help!

Yay! I did, finally! lol

I am trying not to stress. I picked a destination wedding not to stress! lol Our travel agent sent out e-mail invitations with a deadline per my request. And everybody who wanted to go had to put down a deposit that eliminated the ones that didn't want to be there anyways.

Yesenia sent the info out but I found it almost impossible to pick all this stuff out without even being there or looking at it. I will try to read through this thread as much as I can on here before deciding on location, restaurant etc.

I paid to be a supporter so I can open any attachments on here, so that's great! The Brides Maids are a completely unique idea for me- we do not have any in Poland nor do we have a GM. I asked my FI and he says he really doesn't care... So I thought maybe of having 2 BM since all of my friends live in Europe- it's hard to coordinate all of it long distance. And maybe just one guy. And that's it!

Silky, flowy dress for me- Pronovias Bosque amd beige suite for him. I will wear sapphire shoes for the ceremony and have a sapphire bouqet with a hint of minty green. For the reception I am going to wear a short white dress and white shoes. This is how far I have gotten...

Thank you so much for welcoming me!!! I will start reading tonight!:)

Alisa, I'm interested to hear what ypes of issues you had at the resort?

I literally emailed my on-site WC over a month ago and still haven't heard anything!!! I'm thinking of writing back to Yesenia and asking her what the deal is. Or maybe I just need to wait until closer to time...the wedding is 5 months away yet. I just want to start planning!

Heyyyyy Ladiessss!!!!!  :o)  10 relaxing days later...I'm back from Meehiicooo haha.  I don't have a review for you yet, but I promise I'll be working on it soon!  I just had to share some teasers with you from our photogs site though! I should have all of our full size pics in about a week, including our TTD session that I have yet to see but know are going to be amazing!!!  I actually ended up changing from the Coba gazebo to the Chichen gazebo, so that is the one you'll see in the first few pics.  I am in the process of uploading some of our overall trip pictures, so once I have those up, I'll send you a link to at least check out some of the resort!  Until then...here are some of our favs! (sorry they're so small..they're just the low-res thumbnails from our private viewing site)

Thanks ladies!!! You know what...I am SO happy I went with those colors.  I think they were absolutely perfect :o)

So I think I might be done with my review, but it is SOOOO rediculously long LOL.  I'm going to go over it again and maybe add some pictures and then I'll post it under the ASP Resort section of the page and give you guys the link.

Until then...

I downloaded my dvd of the ceremony to youtube so that you ladies could see what you would get!!  The youtube video doesn't show the intro slide or the beginning sort of "advertisement" showcase of the resort, but it shows everything you would get from beginning to end.  Feel free to fastfoward the boring parts LOL.  Its about 15 minutes long.  (that period IS suppposed to be there in the link lol)  Enjoy!  Oh yeah...and our sand ceremony totally flopped LOL.  I bought too small of a funnel and the sand totally got stuck going in.  You'll see me fight with me during the video and then laugh out loud :o)...and I died laughing during one part of the pictures...you'll know what I mean, and I'm so glad he kept it in hahaha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
