I was wondering too if the mugs would be worth it or not?? I feel like, unless people carry them everywhere with them at the resort, when they need the mug they won't have it. Some of my guests may only be there for 2 full days besides the wedding day, so I'm just trying to rationalize if 2 days of use are worth it (of course, they may use at home too). Some people have recommended Bubba Kegs, but these just seem a bit pricey to have to purchase 15-20+ of them.

I was also wondering, for anyone who has already been married in Mexico...is it an issue getting all this stuff through customs?? I was planning on packing everything for the OOT bags in a suitcase and putting them together down there.

Hey there! as far as through customs you will not have any problems...i actually packed an old suitcase filled with all stuff for my OOT bags and then just left the suitcase down there for garbage afterwards....I didnt have any problem with customs with anything that I brought...As far as are the mugs worth it, based on my wedding they were defintiely awesome to have...we made everyone up a bag filled with a few things, one of them being the mugs...and i would say 80% of our guests carried those bags everywhere with them on the resort except for dinner...they loved bringing the bag down to the pool to hold all their stuff in and everyone used their mugs to fill up their drinks at the pool bar....i think i posted a picture on here somewhere of my OOT bags and the contents...I was very happy that I spent the time to make them up b/c everyone used them and kept commenting on how impressed they were that I was so thoughtful to make them...so in the end it made me very happy that i made my guests happy :)

I bought beer steins from factory 21 with our name and wedding info on them. They were super cheap per cup but you have to buy in lots of 100. Since we are having a bunch of guests it ended up being with it. We are having a volleyball tournament so we are getting everyone a "team" shirt with their nicknames on the back and their number. In ended up being really fun to get everyones nicknames from their loved ones....and they have no clue why we need them. I also put disposable razors Tylenol anti bacterial and bandaids in everyones bag. My fiancé also made cd's for each bag with our favorite songs that remind us of one another the cd's ended up being super cheap and we ordered custom labels. I still want to add bottles of hot sauce to everyones bag but I a little concern about how to get all that glass down there. I am now feeling better About the OTT bags....now to tackle the programs! Oh and I am still hoping they can fix my dress but no use stressing about it!

Love the t-shirt w/ nicknames idea...so cute.  The volleyball tournament sounds fun too.  We just might have to plan something like that.

What happened to your dress?  Is that in another thread?

Well I am 5 ft tall so must dresses were crazy long on me anyway. I however decided on an all lace gown that has a scalloped hem. Since the hem is a major part of the dress I had to pay extra to have the designer custom cut the dress. To ensure the hem was ok. However, the dress was not custom cut when it came in. The bridal salon has been great though and they assure me that they can fix it. (keeping fingers crossed) it was too close to the wedding to sent the dress back to the designer and wait for it to come back. I am going on Wednesday to see the first round of alterations. Hopefully all is well with the dress it is just that be Use it is all lace it makes it really tricky to take it in anywhere much less shorten in since it is all one piece of fabric. Like I said no use worrying about it. One of those things that I can't control. I am more worried about my guests having a great time then I am the dress lol.;) name="sxcT" url="/forum/thread/24314/aventura-spa-palace/1770#post_1562765"]

Yah, Mine is June 2012 and they have extended the 1500 promotion.

We just visited Aventura Cove, Beach Palace, and Playacar palace and Aventura was so impressive. We were really leaning toward Beach Palace and we loved the location of Playacar, but our wedding party is larger, so we felt like we would never be able to escape seeing anyone if we were at Beach and Playacar was just in no way nearly as nice as the other 2. Aventura was BEAUTIFUL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
