Just wondering if everyone has all their guests stay on the same side of the resort (either Cove or Spa)...or if some stay on one side and some on the other? I was initially going to let guests pick on their own. We may only have one child there, so obviously they have to stay on family side...but I thought others might want to stay on Spa side.

I only started second-guessing it because the travel agent recommended all staying the same side since its a large resort...what have others done?

Also, I have heard that you can use resort credit towards a wedding package, which we are interested in doing...BUT does this need to be stated in the wedding contract from the start? Or does it get taken care of later?? I haven't actually had contact with the wedding planner because we didn't sign our contract yet.

My guests were kinda split down the middle. We even stayed on the Cove side before the wedding and then went to the Spa side after the wedding. We did a lot of back and forth walking, but it really wasnt that bad. The resort is large, but you can definitely go back and forth from the Spa to Cove with no problem. I would say that if you have guests staying near the Tulum Gazebo then it would be pretty far for them.

Once you get in contact with your WC, let them know you plan on using your credits towards the wedding package and shell take care of it.

My wedding is Nov 5th! I  signed up in October, but my contract says that a WC will be assigned 90 days prior arrival. I used a TA to book my wedding, so she's the one who gets in touch with Yesenia.

Sorry i took so long to respond, i was working all weekend.

You may have already posted this but what is your wedding date?  Mine is the 18th!!

Well feel free to contact Yesenia with any questions you have.  She can answer most of them or can pass you on to your wedding coordinator for those that she can't.

How long are you staying there?  We will be there starting the 15th.  Any chance your colors are turquoise?? cheesy.gif

So I just got an email from Wilma saying that due to "administrative changes" she will no longer be my WC and it is now some girl named Cristina.  Did anyone else get this email?  I feel like I now have to print out all of the correspondence between Wilma and I in case anything goes astray when I get to the resort.

uuugghh!!!!!  Did NOT get this email yet!?!?!  I am DEFINITELY going to print out my correspondence with her now!  Once this new woman emails me I will send her everything I reserved so far just to make sure she has it.

Oh boy!!  I hope I don't get that email.  I haven't done too much with Wilma yet except reserve specific locations.  I have all my correspondence in a "WEDDING" folder just in case.  :)

Good Luck!!  Maybe Cristina will be just as good or better!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
