Thanks ladies... I remember some of you saying that it was hard to use all of the resort credit, so I started thinking that it would be a waste for me to spend cash on things they can use their credit for.  I already bought them this necklace from Kohls:

and was thinking about buying them a clutch to match their dresses made by someone on Etsy...

and maybe a personalized lounge chair cover/towel ... they are supposed to hook onto the back of the chair and they have a pocket to keep your things in.  Do you think this would be useful for them at the resort???

I hired Fernando for hair and make up so I paid for all my girls to get hair and make up done. I also purchased personalized bridemaids tanks online. Hair and makeup were pretty pricey so thats all I got them. I purchased my moh a personalized makeup bag and a white gold necklace to show my appreciation for all she did for me. But thats really it.

Heres a pic of my girls:

I do have 6 bridesmaids so I have to watch how much I spend on them.

hey girls..sort of non-resort question for you...

What did you ladies do for your BM gifts?  I was going to just pay for all of my girls to get mani/pedis at the spa and spend the morning there before the wedding, but I'm thinking with the resort credit it might make sense for them to use their credit for that and me to get them something else?  I was told I can't use my credit on anyone but myself, so I'd be paying cash for them.  Regardless, I already bought them starfish necklaces, but I was thinking maybe it would be better to get them a few more things for a regular gift and just let them use their resort credit for mani/pedis?  What do you think?

Nicole- did you give your girls their bags ahead of time? I worry about all of the stuff we are taking down already.

I know a lot of times, you can find the Old Navy or even Gap tanks at Giant Tiger for a fraction of the price. The tags have been crossed out but at $5 a piece or less you can't complain!

I bought those same transfers and am trying to decide what to put them on. I want to try to find some sort of zip up top to wear on the day of the wedding so that no one messes up their hair and makeup.

Question for you previous brides...

How long did it take to do the dances, speeches, garter, bouquet toss, cake cutting and all the other things that need to get done and photographed?  Reason I ask is because I am on a tight budget and I need to figure out how many hours to book the photographer.  I can really only afford 4 hours but with 1 hour of pre-wedding I am not sure everything will get covered.

Ceremony - 4pm

Reception - 6pm

Thoughts??

I ordered them from customizedgirl.com. They were $10 each and you can design your own shirt or pick one from the ones they already have. I got hubby a Groom to be shirt, both mothers a shirt and myself one. :)

Im a party girl so I wanted to get all the little wedding traditions out of the way asap so we can party the rest of the night. It probably took about 10-15min for the first dance, father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance. Afterwards, we started dinner and as people were finishing dinner, the bestman and moh made their speeches. Dinner probably lasted about 20-25min. We let people dance a little more then got right into the garter removal/toss and bouquet toss. That was about 10-15min. After a little more dancing we cut the cake, which probably lasted 5min.

If you do the speeches before dinner then get into the garter removal/toss, bouquet toss and cake cutting, you might be ok with time. Its hard because no matter how much you want things to be on schedule, they never are. :(

Thanks for the info...it did help.  Im hoping that once it gets closer some extra money miraculously appears and we can afford to do 5 hrs.  I really don't want to feel rushed and I want everything captured.  If all else fails I'll forgo the TTD to get the extra wedding day hours.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
