Yes Nicole!  Please tell us how to figure out how many other weddings are booked on the same day.  Also can I ask what time you ladies booked your wedding for?  And what kind of time line you have planned for your wedding day?

I booked my wedding for 4:00. I am still trying to figure out a time line.

I know that:

4:00 Ceremony
5:00 Cocktail (w/ General Music playing from a docking station, Bride/Groom take photos)
6:00 Dinner/Speeches
7:00 Mariachi ?
8:00 Cake/Mayan Coffee

8:00 plus - General Music Playing/Dance of some sort

My Questions is...Should I have General music playing around 7:00 and do that Mariachi at 5:00 during Cocktail Hour or Have the mariachi at 7:00 and have general music playing during the cocktail party. Thoughts?

Also...Do Speeches go before/After or During Dinner?

How exciting.  I can't wait until its this time next year and I am just as excited as you.

Good idea with the Walmart.  I plan on going to there to get the little extras once I get there so I don't have to transport too much.

I can't wait for the day of the wedding to have spa treatments with my girls as well.  That has got to be such a great feeling.

Gosh I am so excited for u and u got me all excited for myself....and I have over 400 days to go LOL!!!

Can't wait to see pics and read your review.

Im getting married on 11/12. Im so excited!!! I cant believe how fast time is moving. This Saturday is my bridal shower, cant wait! The week after that, is my Houston bachelorette party then the weekend of Oct. 1st is my Jersey bachelorette party...then the wedding! Yikes!

I hired Adrian Herrera for photography, his work is amazing! I hired Fernando for hair and make-up. Im just buying day passes for everyone.

I purchased the Diamond package and will probably just pick out all of the decor down there. I dont want to travel with a bunch of things to Mexico so Ill probably hit up the local Walmart or Playa for hurricane vases for centerpieces and what not.

I was gonna hire the DJ, but he was way too pricey so I just went with the docking station. Im only expecting about 45ppl so Im sure the music will be loud enough for everyone to hear. I plan on going to the disco after the reception to continue the party :)

I already made an appt for the salon for mani, pedi and massages for the bm's. Im so excited to spend the morning of my wedding at the spa with my besties!

I too recently reached my 75 room nights!! I actually have about 3 or 4 more people booking on top of that. Its so exciting!! Now I can email Dulce to reserve my welcome dinner and brunch (day after wedding) locations.

I think thats it so far regarding the resort planning. Still have lots of little things to do still. huh.gif

Kim is right, I need to check with my wedding coordinator to get a definite on other weddings booked the same day as mine, but the way I checked for now was by going to palaceresortsweddings.com then click on Wedding Collections...click on ASP and click on Check Wedding Availability...then put in your resort and date and it will tell you what else is booked...

also, just want to clarify something with everyone...the unlimited private functions is given, once you reach 75 nights booked, not 75 rooms booked...it sounds like some might be confused...we have 47 guests coming with 19 rooms booked, but once we added up how many nights each guest was staying then it came to a total over 75...hope this helps someone...and very important to remember that these rooms have to be booked under your group booking with your travel agent...so if some of your guests book the vacation themselves online w/out going through your travel agent then you will not receive credit for their rooms...we had some like this but luckily we still met the 75 total...

when deciding on your wedding day itenirary make sure you first find out the time of sunset the month you are getting married....the sunsets around 5pm in November, when im getting married so i planned my timeline around this:

11:00 Hair

12:30 Makeup

3:00 Ceremony (w/Harpist)  *we chose this time so we could get our pictures taken before  the sun sets*

4:30-5:30 Cocktail Hour (w/Mexican Trio) *we started this a lil later b/c we want to get our pics taken and then join everyone

6:00-10:00 Reception (w/DJ)

afterwards.....disco/club at resort till we all pass out :)

I feel like it would be cool to have the mariachi band play during cocktail hour. Its hard because during that time you're taking pics and you might miss them. During dinner might be cool too. I hadnt thought of that until you mentioned it. That way you dont have to make a playlist for dinner. I never know what kind of music to play during that time lol

As far as speeches, Ive seen them done right at the end of dinner and also right before dinner is served. I guess it depends on your preference and everything flows together. I think Im going with the right after dinner. I plan to get all the traditional wedding stuff out of the way asap so we can have more time to party! :)

Somehow I got changed to Wilma. I wonder how they determine who gets who? Wilma has been ok at responding. But some of the information she provided has been inaccurate. Also, I find out more on here than I do from her.

Anyhooo....

I remember when we started talking at the beginning of the year and it seemed like Nov/Dec would take forever to get here! We're in the home stretch! So excited... thewave.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
