I am going to be having dinner at one of the restaurants...any suggestions on which?? I did hear of one bride who chose the restaurant with a terrace and she said her reception was practically private without paying for a private one. I would love to do this!!
Mundaca Steakhouse had a nice lower terrace for dinner reservations but by no means is it private they can seat people on the level with you, if its slow that night you could luck out. Also El Greco had a nice view with a outside terrace.

Does anyone here have suggestions for planned activities around the resort? I would like to give my guests a short 'itinerary' of things to look forward to on the days leading up the wedding. So far I was thinking a welcome cocktail party at one of the bars, and possibly a pool party to get everyone together by the pool. Any ideashuh.gif

Question: I know that it was mentioned that for a private reception there is a 2 hour open bar for guests. However, being that the resort is AI, why are only allowed 2 hours? Can guests still order drinks after the 2 hours or do we need to purchase extra time? Im confused since technically we can get drinks for free any other time during our stay. Thanks ladies!

Angelov -- I don't know for sure, but I believe that what you are paying for with the private function are your own private bartenders and servers, which is why they only supply them for two hours and would charge you extra for more. The food and drinks are technically 'free'. Hope this helps?

Yeah, this doesnt make sense to me either...I guess because they have a bartender working just for your guests...i talked to Yazmin about it and she said that it is an extra $60 per hour for every 10 guests...so if you have 50 guests total and you want another 2 hours to make it a total of 4 hours open bar then it will cost an additional $600...hope this helps..

nicdeb -- don't base your calandar on me!! haha..this is just the kind of person I am :o) I love to plan, plan, plan! I think I'm just so excited to go that this keeps me busy haha. I would love to hear about your experience when you come back!! If if make you feel any better then only reason why I'm thinking about 'itinerary' now is because I wanted to put a page on my passport invitation to show the guests I will have things planned to be with them when they travel all that way :oP

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
