I would be doing the same thing either way, playing my i pod, I'm just affraid that with my Bose out on the cove terrace that the sound will get lost. What to do, What to do :)
Hi Jackie,

Did you use your BOSE ipod docking station for your reception on the Cove Terrace? We are having our cocktail party there and wanted to know how the sound quality was or did you decide on renting the equipment?

We decided on renting the equiptment, it was $250 for the speakers, microphone and the hook up to play the i pod. I'm glad we did it that way because I think the sound might have gotten lost otherwise. And I wanted the music loud because it was dinner & dancing.

But for background music for a cocktail hour you might be able to get away with the bose.

I just wanted to give a quick description of the DVD ~ since that is what I was looking for before I left for my wedding. =)

The DVD is about 30 minutes long and it begins when the WC picks you up! The videographer seemed to have a "check list" of things she wanted to tape. One was putting on some lip gloss. I had just given all my makeup to my mom to take to the ceremony so I put on some mascara. They tape you looking out the window, in the mirror, etc. Seems a little corny when you are doing it, but they edit the video and it's really nice. They also tape the walk/ride to the ceremony. There is more than one videographer so they don't miss anything! The ceremony was great, they really captured everything. They edit out the bad stuff too...like I needed a bobby pin to hold my hair back and so my sister gave me one of hers. (it was not on the video) Also, after the ceremony they had taped all of us kinda standing around, chatting and taking our professional pictures. They used our ceremony music and then Jack Johnson's Better Together. (we did not tell them what to use) But it was perfect! WELL worth the money! So anyway, keep your lip gloss with you! LOL! If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. We still have our ATR this weekend so after that I will write a full review.

We picked ours when we arrived so nothing would get lost in translation i.e. colors, size, ribbon, etc.
They also had way more arrangements to pick from than they sent me before hand that I hadn't even thought about.
Just some tips:
-think in season....this will assure the flowers you want will be there and at a cheaper cost
-bring pictures...they can mimic basically anything you want
-send your WC some idea before hand so if you do have a special/difficult order they can make sure they have it ready for you

Haha that's funny, we actually thought about doing that! Come the day of the wedding though I don't think anyone wanted to deal with it. Plus it's about 30-45 minutes just to get to Playa so what you're paying for the cab amounts to the same price you pay just going with the resorts flowers.

Was that $250 total? I looked at the sound system sheet and they are wanting $325 for the first hour and up to $400 for 4 hours... it's worth it if you have a private reception but if only having cocktail hour it doesnt seem like a good deal since you have to spend $325 for just one hour. I dont know what to do!!! Watch I will change everything up at the last minute!

Hi ladies! Ive been looking at these luminary paper bags, where you put the battery operated tealights in them and they glow at night...was thinking about having a bunch of them around the area where our reception will be...just wondering if anyone thinks it will be too windy in Mexico in November for these...will they just blow away? what if i put some sand in the bottom of them? thanks for any input...nicole

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
