Nam

Thanks for the heads up about the adults only. I already knew that when we booked. Your pictures are beautiful by the way!

Danielle,

That's pretty crappy that your veil got torn! My mom is making my veil, so I'll make sure to be careful! How much room was there on the buggy? If it works, I may have both my mom and dad...still thinking about it...

Depending on when the wedding is you may be able to get away with having it in one of the pool areas. Many of the pool areas were completely dead at night when we were there. Also you have the option of going to the disco. We didn't have a private reception but instead just took over the disco after dinner and it was a blast! There's a bar in there and the DJs know instantly that you're a wedding party so they run around and have fun with you. We had so much fun doing this.
Hey there! How many people did you have at your wedding? I'm having around 25 people and debating on having a private reception. Right now we have our dinner reservation booked for after the wedding at Mundaca... Also was your wedding dinner somewhat private and where did you have dinner?

The pool areas close early. We (a large group of us) would usually have drunken hot tub time around 2am...most nights nothing happened and we would just drink and hang out but our last night we got kicked out around 10pm because they said the area was already closed. I would think the beach area might be a better place to have a little gathering but there are no lights down there.

Our reception was on the Mundaca rooftop. The $12 thing wasn't the case during our wedding, must be something new. There is a great area where Raulca had her wedding near the Coba gazebo, right near the water. Not completely private but off away from everything. It looked great!! Her pictures are some pages back if you want to go back and look at her slideshow.

amywuts-the whole resort isn't adults only, they told you that right? 1/2 the resort is family friendly so depending on the locations you pick for events...there may be kids around.
Hi NaM,

You said that you did all the planning when you got there. Did you plan the private reception when you got there or did you plan that ahead of time? I see that one person on this thread set up a private reception when they got to the resort but on the email sent by Dulce she said to give her 60 day noticehuh.gif

Just wondering how flexible they are if I do change my mind...

Here's my torn veil... haha
I'm so sorry to hear about your veil. I probably would want to start crying ,but on the positive side it makes for a great ,funny story after the fact that you can tell your kids. Thank for the pic! My little niece is gonna go nuts over the horses. I wonder if you can do beach horse back ridding...probably not with those, they look big.
Anywas..you look happy and beautiful in the photo even with the ripped veil.

amy,

The buggy is a two seater, so it only fit me and my dad.

Cristi,

We had about 30 people. We also had our dinner at the Mundaca and they set up a long table on the terrace there. It was pretty private, we weren't bothered at all by anybody. They did a wonderful job making us feel like we were the only people there, bringing us special cocktails in our wedding colors, and taking care of us. Our table pretty much took up the whole terrace so there was only a couple other people outside and they weren't too close to us.

I think she just needs to know that you are going to have one about 60 days before. Other than that I literally planned everything there...menu, linens, flowers, music, day passes, cake.............
She really takes care of everything!! It was the best not thinking about it because I knew the venue would be beautiful enough I didn't care too much about decor. And it was GREAT not taking anything with me or having to bring it back and store it or try and sell it. I also wanted to wait and pick the menu so I could try some food at the resort and see what I liked.
They are really flexible, nothing starts getting made until after your meeting with her anyway so you can change your mind literally up to the point of the night before.

What a relief! I know that most of the planning is done when you get there but it is so hard to not think about the little stuff. I will say that this whole experience hasnt been that stressful (knock on wood) considering I'm usually a stress ball.... But then again I still have 4 months until the day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
