For those of you who have ever been on a cruise...

We took a transatlantic on Celebrity and really like it. For out honeymoon we are going on Holland America. I heard they are on par with quality but HAL is aimed towards an older crowd. It fit perfectly with our plans and goes to great places in the Carribean so we are going for it. (St. Lucia, St. martin, Barbados, Martinique, Tortola, private island)

1) What was your favourite and why?

*We went on a cruise about a year ago on the Norwegian Spirit. True, it was the only one we've been on, but it was fantastic! And I would use Norwegian again.

2) How was the food?

*The food was fantastic. We upgraded a couple nights to have lobster, but even the food that came included in the trip was superb.

3) How was the entertainment?

*Entertainment was... um... entertaining. The shows at night were really enjoyable, and even the classes and stuff during the day were fun. I really liked taking the dancing classes. My FI even took the salsa one with me. He's so cute.

4) And the service? etc.

*Impeccable! So accomodating

5) The overall comfort on the ship/room?

*I expected the room to be so cramped and was shocked at how much more room we had than I had imagined. I have pics if you want to check them out. Just let me know.

6) And... where did you visit (and for how long)?

*We departed in New York City, went all way down the east coast to St. Thomas, then the next day was Tortola, and the last day was Bermuda. With those places, and days at sea, it was a total of 8 days. 8 AMAZING days!

I've only been on one cruise, and it was 10 years ago so I don't know if my experience is even relevant. But, we went on Royal Caribbean on a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. It was awesome! In fact, at the time, I remember wondering why anyone would want to just go to a regular resort when they could cruise for about the same money. The bummer part at the time was that alcohol wasn't included (I'm not sure how much that would really bother me now, but when I was younger I was a big drinker) and I think our bar tab for 4 days for 2 of us was nearly $500.

But everything else: the food, the service, the ship in general, was awesome!

I sailed RC to the Southern Caribbean and it was a blast! FI and I are thinking cruise for our honeymoon... but will definately upgrade to a room w/a balcony! The interior room my girlfriend & I stayed in was TIGHT but we spent so little time in there, it didn't matter too much!

Want to try a different cruise line the next time... HAL/NCL or Celebrity. I'm all about the food this next trip!

Also said Regal Empress (?) on a two/three-dayer to the Bahamas. Old ship but had a pretty good time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
