Manicure question

Recommended Posts

Ok girls,, I have the worst nails ever. They are thin, brittle and I can't grow them too long or else they start growing wierd. My cuticals also need some work. SO my questions is,,,, how long do you think it will take me to get my nails in good shape for the wedding? OR how many trips to the salon will I need to make?

Hey tammy, I can't say exactly how many times it will take to get your nails good for the wedding but what I do is go and get a manicure every 2 weeks!!! It is really cheap here to get your nails done and they clean them up for you and trim them and they seem to get healthier. I always pick my nails so it is hard for me to keep them long but when I get them done I won't touch them for at least a week so that really helps me! I'm trying to let mine grow out for the wedding as well!! Good luck! I just say go get a manicure and ask them these questions, they will be able to tell you!

Tammy I think we have the same nails! I don't know how long either, but maybe they could tell you better at the place you go. What might help too is start eating Jello. I know, Jello is not one of my favorite things, but when I do eat it, because its low cal, I find that I do see a noticeable improvement in my nails.

My mom told me to start taking MSM supplements to improve my hair and nails. She swears by it.

You might want to be careful about getting manicures too frequently.....if I do, my nails become weaker and more brittle.

I'm considering doing acrylics for my wedding....but, I still haven't decided for sure.

I want to do acrylics, however my fingers (where my nails are) looks like they were ran over by a car because they are flat, so I don't think the acrylics would "stick" to them. unless they use a filler. Seriously girls my nails are so ugly, I had a guy in highschool (ok it was highschool but still) that wouldn't date me because he didn't like my hands, and when I got married (granted YEARS ago) the nail tech said she only seen one other girl with nails like mine.. :-((((( I want those pretty hand shots but I'm so afraid that they will look horrible, plus I crack my knuckles so I have their big..

Ohh I know,, Glenda since your crashing my wedding anyway,, do you want to by my "hand" model.. :-) Or Jess maybe you can arrive in cabo a little early and be my hand model..

okay, maybe you should go get a manicure soon and go to a good place and ask them for some advice to get your nails in shape, you've got 3 months, that should be the perfect amount of time. And then maybe once your nails are in better shape the acrylics will work okay, I'm sure the manicurist can figure it out

And as christine said, stop cracking your knuckles!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
