I'm getting married on Halloween at ROR at 4 p.m. I read somewhere that the sun sets around 5:30. For all you other ROR fall/winter brides, does that sound about right? I would imagine Christopher or Michael wouldn't even start taking pictures of just us until 4:45 or so (ceremony followed by a bit of mingling). I'm worried it will be dark! I was hoping for some bright blue sky pics as well as some sunset pics. It will be totally dark at Mammee Bay at 6:30. Anyone experienced that?

I was suppose to get married at 4 but it was morel like 4:45 so my pictures were starting to get into the sunset at around 5:30. It won't be dark. I think you'll get your blue pictures and then some beautiful sunset pictures. And yes it'll be dark or darker at 6:30 for dinner.

What it more like 4:45 because Chandlyn was running late? Did you have to wait in your room for her? I'm a bit worried about that!

No. My mom was suppose to arrive the day before and her plane had technical problems so they canceled the flight. So she had to fly to Atlanta and the next day (wedding day) fly to jamaica. So we stalled the wedding waiting for my mom. Chandlyn held it for me! I did wait in my room but it was geting later and later so she had me come to the lobby and I waited around the corner until my mom ran through the lobby!

That's so awesome it worked out! I'm hoping if there is a big rain shower, they'll hold the ceremony for me for up to a half hour or more!

Here's a link to a website that shows the times for sunrises and sunsets. It's set up for Kingston, Jamaica, which is probably close enough to give you an approximate time. You can select the date.

Looks like the sunset on Oct 31, 2008 is at 5:35pm.

Will you be there the next day? Perhaps you could grab your photographer for another hour or so the next day. Get back into your dress, and have a mini-photo shoot wherever you want with a much more relaxed timeline.

Thanks for posting this! I was just able to move to the 4pm time, and was wondering how much time would be left before sunset.

Our wedding was at 11 am but I wanted sunset pictures all week, but everytime the sun was setting we were so busy doing something that we were not ready. Anyway, one thing is that the sun sets behind the resort in the mountains. But the sky is still beautiful over the ocean.

I was married at 4 PM in Feb, and I still had beautiful blue sky pictures followed by some where the sky was turning pink. :) You will be fine, no worries!
