After months of stalking this site, and months of agony of where to book the wedding, We have decided to take a trip and see it all for ourselves. My mom and I are headed down to Cancun/RM for some site visits, July 24-28... I need some ideas for AI resorts that allow children..So far we have the following:

Dreams Cancun

Moon Palace

Beach Palace

Paradisus Riveira

EDR (AIhuh.gif)

We are pretty clueless, so any ideas on how to mazimize our time there would be great, thanks!

We are staying at the CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort as my mom has free rooms there (She works for Wells Fargo, and travels about 300 days a year) That is so weird we are going to be there the same time, do you know where you are staying or what hotels you are looking at? I spoke with Claudia at Dreams and they didn't have any Friday or Saturday availability in April, May or June of 09...which sucks, I was really hoping for a May wedding, but I guess we will just have to see which resorts have open dates...Let me know what resorts you are thinking of checking out...

Ashley I know your pain. This is what I have been going through but for Los Cabos instead of Cancun. Sometimes I just want to pick a place already and other times I know I should actually go and see the places in person. I am glad you are able to do this and wish you luck, I know you will find the perfect place for your wedding.

Thanks. You still have a while! which is nice, but my advice, if you are set on a specific month, go ahead and get it booked, I am looking about 11 months out and my first choices are booked! I have Cabo on my list as well.....I wanted to do both for site visits, but the TA said the flight from Cancun to Cabo is like 5 hours...as you layover somewhere..or some other bs like that...So I am hoping I find somewhere in Cancun, otherwise it is off to Cabo! Just keep in mind, no matter where you pick it is going to be beautiful, you can't beat the beach, pools and warm weather, how could you have a bad time? We will all look back at the planning process after we are married and wish we hadn't of stressed so much about the little stuff.. But I know how you feeling, picking a resort is the WORST part...I talked my mom into cashing in all of her frequent flyer miles, and hotel rewards so we could get cheap flights and cheap rooms, the whole trip is only costing us about $500..Good luck with your planning and let me know what you decide on..RIU Cabo is also one of my choices...I need to stop researching on here!

Thanks for your advice Ashley, it is just good to know that we are all in this together! LOL! Way to go for your mom with hooking you up for your site visits, I can't wait to hear what you find out. Let me know if you ever make it to Cabo too. I am hoping to go in August but everything is so pricey and just like all of us I am on a budget, but I am hoping to make it work. I know what you mean about researching on here....I spend WAY too much time on this forum! My Fiance keeps asking me...is this all you do all day? LOL! Oh well, it is fun and full of great ideas!

We are getting married at Club Med in Cancun....I have never seen a wedding there...but we are four months away from the big day and everything is running smoothly so far. We got a great rate of $110 a night per person...all inclusive. I am a HUGE fan of club med and I have never went to a club med and didn't have a good time. It's worth checkin out while your there.

The only really downside is that CM doesn't specialize in weddings. They do them...but they don't really have a wedding package. They suggested a great wedding planner and she has been amazing!

Good Luck with your search!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
