Hi ladies,

Im a liitle confused in regards to the std's and invites! Who do you send std's to? Do you send out std's to everyone you want to invite and then whomever replies saying that they can attend, then send them an invitation?

Thanks for the clarification!!

We sent STDs to everyone we wanted to come and we knew wnated to be there. We sent these out 9 months in advance. We are sending out invites about 7 months out form the date and these will go to more people that we expect can't make it. Some of the late invitations are more "gesture" on behalf of our families.

I'll be sending out all of my invites out about 9 months ahead and then a reminder about 90 days before the wedding. This way people will have all the information right away. I know I did it backwards but most of my friends said that this would help them save to make it. :):):)

We sent out STD magnets and a letter describing what we are doing, who are travel agent is, where they can contact her, prices, etc....we sent these out to everyone- even those that we knew wouldnt come.....we sent these out about 1 year before our wedding..

we will be sending out AHR invites to everyone as well in the new year.

There are lots of thread on this. Try doing a search or browse the invite forum.

We sent STDs out about 10 months before the wedding. I would have liked to do it sooner, but that was when we had travel dates, flight info, etc.

Ettiquette-ly (that's my new word of the day) everyone who is told to hold the date should receive an invite.

Since we are having an AHR, we combined the wedding announcement with the AHR invite. I didn't want to do 3 sets of invites (STD, wedding, AHR).

We are doing the samething as nikkianddean - sent out std 9 mo before to everyone and our invites will go out in another month (7 mo before wedding) and we will also send them to everyone even if we know they can not come.

We sent our Save the dates in March 08 - stating that the wedding was to be expected in Feb of 2009 and that passports were required

In May of 08 we sent the invite - detailing that the wedding is infact in January 09, all of our guests were thankful for the heads up, especially for the purposes of booking holidays.

/A.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
