Morgan's Riviera Maya wedding review

Recommended Posts

Great review Morgan, I couldn't agree more, your photos and video are with you for a lifetime and they need to be great. My friend's children watch her wedding video all the time (of course they weren't born) but they get such a thrill out of it, that it is such a good idea to have one even if you cringe when you hear yourself speak, I hate seeing myself on video but love photos!

I bought it at macy's for $230 last july. you can now get it at dillards for $180. Product: OC by Oleg Cassini Beaded Grecian Gown

The TTD was the same dress but with a different top. Heidi (another BDW bride) was looking for a dress like mine, before it was available online. I helped her track it down. She ended up buying the strappy version for her TTD in jamaica. She was nice enough to loan me her dress so I could trash it too. My TTD was the day before the wedding so I needed two dresses.

For me, the dress was a great place to save money. It was only $25 to get hemmed and no more alterations were needed because it's an off the rack fit. I love how it photographed. The top layer would blow in the wind. The only problem was the linning wasn't flowy so it was harder to swim in. If the whole dress was a flowy material it would have been prettier in the water. I guess they don't design these things for swimming.

I do cringe when I hear myself on tape, but the way miguel does the video will make it much more watchable for me. You will only hear our voices for the ceremony. Then it will just be images with music over the top. When he filmed it was more like photography, not a continuous video. It really made us comfortable in front of the camera. I really look forward to seeing the finished product.

thanks, that is the attitude I learned to have from my run as a bridemaid. I only really cared about a few things. I wanted everyone to have fun & I didn't want to be stressed out. A wedding is such a beautiful thing on it's own.

Morgan, you crack me up! I'm sure dress designers haven't even thought about what makes a good TTD dress. That might be a profitable thing for them to start marketing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
