EDR's HM brkfst in bed & Dinner at beach..which did you choose?

Recommended Posts

As part of our free wedding package we have included a honeymoon breakfast in bed and a dinner on the beach. I was wondering, for those who also went with the Free Wedding Package at EDR, which Menu Option would you recommend? What was your experience with your choices?

*Honeymoon breakfast in bed

*Honeymoon Candle Light Dinner on the Beach

Does anyone know if these have to happen the morning after the wedding or can it happen on any day of your honeymoon stay?

We're getting married at a different hotel but have the same things included in our package. I actually was wondering the same thing about the breakfast in bed. I think it makes more sense to do it a few days after the wedding instead of the following morning. I'm sure they will honor that request and understand completely.

We had this, too. And we did it a few days after the wedding. You can schedule it anytime you want. I think we changed ours a few times after we got there! The french toast was amazing, but the omelet (ours had salmon) was too fishy.

Dinner on the beach, we did the three cheese fondue. It was excellent. My parents had that too with their anniversary package and were huge fans. Other friends paid to do this and had something different (I forget what) but enjoyed it as well (not to mention he proposed to her that night!!). I really don't think you can go wrong with any of it. Oh, and when we sat down for dinner, they brought us out a menu, so apparently we didn't really have to choose ahead of time. So pick one for now, and since they apparently don't pass on this info, change it the night you get there, if you want.

Yes, we did the candlelight dinner on the beach and it was awesome. We had the 3 cheese fondue - it's different than the one you get off the menu at La Fondue and way better. (We went to La Fondue several nights later hoping to have it again, but the one you order there only includes one of the meats - not all 3, plus the mushrooms and bread. Also it has a different combo of cheeses.) The candlelight fondue included steak, shrimp, chicken, mushrooms and tiny round rolls. The baked alaska was also outstanding. Something they don't tell you, there is a saxophone player that goes from table to table playing with the recorded background music and it was actually really nice.

Also, you can get that great French toast at Kampai for breakfast. Several people in our group had it every single morning. If you stay in the casitas, you can order it by room service, too.

Timesel I love your pictures!!!! --you guys are such a great looking couple!!

We also had the 3 cheese fondue on the beach- and that was our most fav dinner. The sax player, the service, the privacy, the food-- it was all so romantic-- definitely a night we won't forget!

We actually had 2 "honeymoon breakfasts!" - we had the one that came with our package the morning after we got married and it was yummy-- they set up the whole breakfast on the table on our balcony -so it was perfect! Also, one of my girlfriends that wasn't able to come to the wedding, had gone online and bought us another breakfast (not knowing we got one "free" with the package)-- as a suprise! - so we ended up having another honeymoon breakfast in our room the last morning there.... Both were great!

I agree with timesel--- our room was across the path from Kampani and they had amazing breakfast-- we had breakfast there everymorning (besides the 2 we had in our room). I had their french toast everytime and DH had their eggs and bacon-- very yummy!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
