In need of advice for travel issue

Help! I'm having an issue getting a refund from Vacations for Less for a plane ticket we had to purchase for my MOH because we didn't have the most updated itinerary...long of short of it...the TA said he sent the most current itin to me via email, but I never received it...we had the last itin he sent which had her on AA, but the latest and greatest itin had her on Alaska...we had to purchase a new ticket for she and her son on AA because when she went to AA to check in, they told her she was reserved but not paid for. I would like to get reimbursed by the agency for the cost of the new ticket...I never received a follow up email nor a hard copy of the updated itin...there argument is that his email shows he sent it, but I keep telling them that I never received it (which is true) otherwise she would have been on the Alaska flight...any suggestions as to how to get reimbursed? This is 3 weeks out now and everytime I call, I get the runaround. Thanks for any advice you have.

Presumably you put it on a credit card. Call the CC company and dispute the charge.

It may not stick, but at least that way Vacations for Less will know you're serious. And really? At the end of the day if you HAD received the new itinerary, then you wouldn't have PAID for the cost of the new ticket.

unfortunately, the charge was to AA and not to vaca for less...

I'm trying to find out who owns the company so I can try to go directly through the owner...

the new ticket cost over $1,000, so I really don't want to eat the cost...thanks for your input!

So, if the charge is to AA, but there's also a charge to Alaska?

Who AUTHORIZED the charges? Clearly your TA did it on your behalf - you didn't. Go to the credit card company with that info and see what they will do with it.

I'm a bit confused. When she went to check in for the flight and they said she was not confirmed on that flight did she call the agency to see what was up knowing that her credit card was charged for a ticket or did she just buy another ticket. Did she call and confirm her flight 24 hours prior to departure? In other words, at that point is there any possible way she could have made it to the other flight that she was booked on or was that already gone?

I paid for the vacation package through vacations for less back in February and the only itinerary we received showed that she was flying out on AA and flying back on Alaska. When she goes to check in at AA, they tell her that she is reserved but not paid for...she frantically calls me (I'm in Mex) to see what is going on and I have no clue since the charge hit my credit card in Feb...we call vacations for less and there is no answer nor is there an emergency 800 number...the flight she thinks she is on is full, so my sister in law gets her on a later flight that we have to pay for since AA is showing she hasn't paid for a ticket...when I get back from Mexico I call vacations for less and they tell me they emailed me an updated itinerary that changed her outbound flight to Alaska air...I tell them I never received this email and it's been back and forth ever since...

...until a few minutes ago when they told me they would not reimburse me for the other ticket I had to purchase...I going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am tempted to take them to small claims court...is there anything else I can do??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
