the hotel staff was supposed to direct us to this guy when we wanted to plan something, but we got them to let us bypass him & just call our own cab.

have you priced transportation? it's a far trip so you might want to make sure that's affordable before you buy anything.

mayanlandscape@live.com.mx I was super happy with these guys. we chartered 2 vans for 20 people for $340. That was do go from puerto aventuras to coba. You can get a quote for cancun to xel-ha. I think xel-ha has a shuttle + enterence fee price. I have heard they make a lot of stops. it was nice having our own van to go at our own schedule.
We are not very far from Xel-ha at all...I think like a 10-15 drive. So, the cabs are just waiting outside the resorts? I never remember seeing them before. But then again, I never paid attention.

I want this to be hassle-free, or without much hassle.

That Lomas guy is crazy! I have heard nothing but great things about Lomas, I will definitely keep a watchful eye out!

We booked a group fishing trip and the rep from the fishing tour said to not tell Lomas about our trip because they will call and cancel it and try to get us to rebook with them. That is crazy! I guess they don't care and they just want to make money.

We are going to Xel-Ha and Xcaret before everyone gets there. We get there 3 days before everyone else....I know some people in our group want to go, so we may end up going again after they get there.

      Thanks for the tip, Morgan!
oh, so it's just you guys. then maybe a cab would be best. if you are taking a big group though I'd check on the vans. Are you doing both on the same day? I've heard to allow a whole day for one.

i had heard bad things about lomas, but when i went 9 years ago they were great. maybe it was a different group then. our shuttle to the hotel from the airport was a mess.

going straight through the website is probably your best bet. cut out the middle man.

oh, i thought it was much farther. then yes, take a cab. I thought it was like an hour away.

we told a bell hop we wanted a cab & he got us one within 10 minutes. in cancun you can probably just wave one down.

We will do one one day and the other the next day. I think they allow like 5 or 7 days to do the second excursion.

Thanks guys, you have been very helpful!

And my typo on the title bar is annoying me.

sounds like fun. both in the same day would be a lot. there is an xcaret/ tulum trip & i've read several reviews saying to only do one in a day.

I've been to Xel-Ha and xcaret--we tried to book it though our hotel in Akumal, but we were told that it is much much cheaper if you just go there yourself and get a general admission ticket. Through the hotel it was 75 including transportation. By ourselves we paid 12 each, and we took a collectivo there--so maybe for transportation we paid about 5-10 dollars? The cabs outside of the hotels are a hugeeee rip off, I would suggest a bus, if that is possible for you?

You paid $12 for Xel-Ha? Get out of town! Are you serious? That is super cheap!

A bus would be fine, but I forgot one of the guys Jay works with has a cousin who lives in the Tulum area and owns a taxi and it SUPPOSED to give us a good deal...we will see on that one!
