Turner Fallas, Oklahoma or other Getaway ideas near Dallas

I really need to get away for a few days so Martin and I are thinking of traveling somewhere within driving distance.

Has anyone on here been to Turner Falls, OK? I hear it's a nice area. We were thinking of renting a cabin and taking at least one of the dogs with us. If you've been there do you have any lodging suggestions?

The main purpose of this trip is to R E L A X so we'd also be open to spa resorts or something like that. A pool would be GREAT! I did find this place which looks awesome but I'm not sure how far away it is (it's in the TX Hill Country). 3x the price of a little cabin so we'd probably stay for 2 nights instead of 3 but it includes breakfast, appetizers, dinner, sodas, water, wine & beer for $299/night. And it has a pool :) Here's the link: Escondida: The Texas Country Reporter Hacienda

I'd say $299/night is definitely our max budget - anymore than that and we might as well put it towards a quick trip to Cancun or something.

I'm from Dallas, and was supposed to go with my mom and sister and her family to Turner Falls but couldn't make it. However they LOVED it. My niece went with her mom and brother and they also loved it. Both times was just a day trip so they didn't stay but I'm sure it would of been fun too. I like Los Colinas near Irving. If you've never been there. My sister got married there. There is a gorgeous I think Omni hotel with spa. It's been a while since I've been there though. I'm sure its expanded. Theres a lake and canal and its gorgeous. Have fun!

Jaime,

I've been to Turner Falls and it was so much fun, the waterfalls are beautiful. We stayed right by the falls, but I didn't like the cabin that we stayed in so much, it had a great location but it was very old. I did like that I was able to take my dog. In fact I've been looking at places to stay in again, I would like to go with Mark and our dog. Let me know what you find.

The hacienda looks awesome!

OR...You could head this way and stay on the river and spend a few days floating it. What's more relaxing than floating in the river with a drink in hand?

Except that you may not find a place on a short notice, so scratch that. ha! smile105.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
