Not ONE of my future in laws have booked yet!

Recommended Posts

don't stress at all - a lot of people wait until closer to the date because the prices come down!

my wedding is in a month and my parents just booked last week (and they're the most supportive people in the world and wouldn't miss our wedding for anything!)

I know it's not what you want to hear, but you should consider giving them some slack. You have about 8 months left. My own FATHER just booked his flights about a month ago. I am still not sure if he has a hotel yet. I'm sure that they will make it.

Everyone has missed my main concern!!!!!!
They have already said that they will not be attending!!! I know for a fact that we have some guest that have already told us they are coming, just waiting to get a better deal...that's totally cool with us...It's just the idea that all 4 of his sisters and 1 brother have already confirmed that they will NOT be attending! I am fine with it, just feel bad for my FI!!!!

I didn't read everyone's response but I would recommend that you don't let it bother you. Like some of the other brides, I still have family that hasn't booked. Honestly I expect reservations up till the week of. I gave plenty of time to book but people are such procrastinators.

Also, someone had to mention to me that my wedding wasn't as important to some others... go figure! As if? Nevertheless, these people have now booked but it was at the last minute. I would suggest reminder emails.

For the bride who's wedding is in 08... you've got a bit of time so don't expect much till after the Summer.

P.S. For the record my parents haven't booked yet!

wow, sorry did not read the whole thread.

You really can't do anything about who will or will not come. I mean, you can talk to them, urge them, whatever. But ultimately people are going to make a decision that works best for them.

So rather than stressing out over it, just try to enjoy your time. You have several months. Maybe they will change their mind? Maybe if there is some sort of rift your Fi and his siblings can work it out. But I can guarantee that your getting all worked up is not going to help anyone in this situation so my advice is to just let things be and focus on the positive. You're getting married to a person that you love and in an awesome location that you're going to totally enjoy. Planning is super stressful, but the more that you can let it go, and just roll with the punches (and we've all been there...) the more that you will enjoy this time and everyone will enjoy you! wink.gif

good luck!

Ok, I want to thank everyone for being so supportive! You guys are the best! And you all are soooooooo right! I have stressed about this long enough, and I'm so sick of thinking about all of this negative crap! We have an incredible wedding party attending at this point, and I could care less if anyone else ended up going! Now, onto the fun stuff! I have about 7 months to finish my planning for all of the "fun" stuff that I love to do! so thanks to you all! Woooooo hooooooo!thewave.gif

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
