I am still not certain about my wedding at a resort or villa or venue so I have been receiving info for villas from Julieta, a florist and wedding planner in Cancun.

contact her if you still need this because she has great prices, and she has a lot or connections for moving fast!

Probably a little late at this point, but just thought I'd throw another suggestion in... I'm getting married at Casa Romero in Akumal (on Yul-Ku lagoon) on July 3. We're renting the house (and actually the entire property which includes another villa - fits 14 people - and 4 townhomes). We'll have a pretty decent size property to ourselves. Our wedding planner is Jen at Turtle Bay Cafe - so far she has been AWESOME. She is originally from the states and relocated to the area, she's found great deals on most of the things I want (plus she owns the majority of items you'd need to rent - tables, barware, etc). Good luck planning!

Hi! There is a lovely villa in the Dominican Republic--Villa Flor De Cabrera. It has 10 bedrooms and a separate casita for the bride and groom. It can fit 24 people, has a pool, on the beach, has A/C, onsite wedding planner, chef, concierge, host, and laundress. The cost is dependent upon the time of year but we are paying $17,500 for the week. That's $729 per person for the week. The food plans are separate but you can pick anything you want--all the way up to all-inclusive. We're getting married in July 2011. So excited!

I'd love it if you could share a link or more info on this house, it sounds amazing! We are still in the initial planning stages for late 2011.

Megs123: How many guests did you have? Did you marry on the sand then use the house and grounds for the reception--this is the exact scenario I'm looking for. But I need help figuring out vendors, wedding planner, etc that won't rip me off and can help me achieve my specific vision (chic, yet casual with more of a cocktail party vibe than a traditional sit-down wedding vibe). Any leads greatly appreciated. Oh, and I am expecting approx 80 guests (looking into buying out a boutique hotel in PDC). If you could share your total budget, that would be soooo incredibly helpful. I am trying to stretch a budget of 15K as far as possible. Would looove to see pics from your wedding as well.

Many thanks!

We stayed at the Paradisus, and then we rented Sol Y Luna for the day/night of the wedding. I can't say enough good things about the villa. It was absolutely perfect, and stress free. We bought all the food/alcohol from costco the night before and dropped it off to cut down the costs. The villa organized for a chef and 2 staff ($300 total for the staff) who took care of everything. The villa was beautiful, the food was great, the staff required very little direction, the beach was great, pool was great and a fair size, just perfection. Just message me if you have any questions! I have tons of pics but I can't seem to attach them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
