IF they stay at a different resort that is NOT a Barcelo property, then yes, they have to pay for a day pass even to attend your wedding.

Hope this helps!!!

I am 99% sure. This was what I was told on the unnoficial barcelo forum, and by our wedding coordinator.

Breens, Cara is correct, also google unoffical Barcelo and you will find a great website forum like this totally created to only talk about the Barcelo and for people who love it. They have a whole wedding section and I have found so much helpful info from past brides and guests. Check it out!

Yeah, I have been looking at that site as well. I just worry because our original plan was to stay at the Palace and let our guests decide btween Beach/Caribe, Colonial/Tropical and Palace due to $. But when I asked Victoria (WC we spoke to in July) she said that the 80% still applied and we couldn't do it there unless 80% of our guests were staying there.

Because almost all of our guests are staying in the Tropical, we may just leave it the way it is.

I appreciate all your help!

On this note, if you are doing your wedding at the palace, they have this really cool rooftop deck for cocktail hours that looked very nice and chic!!! I would've loved to do my cocktail hour there :)

Thanks again!

Very Cool!!! We will be there then as well! Do you know who your WC is yet? The beaches are really great. Also, there is a space between Caribe and colonial for the ceremoney that feels a little more secluded, feel free to ask any questions. But, when we went in July, the Caribe wasnt open, the guests were moved to Colonial/tropical, but you could still use their beach. We thought about booking that one in hopes they'd move us too :)

I have Gabriela. :) Yeah the Beach/Caribe is closed and apparently has been completely renovated so I am pretty excited about that. It is scheduled to re-open in Dec., but if not... worst case scenario we'll be upgraded to the Tropical/Colonial. I have never been there but I hear they have the best beach in the Mayan Riviera!

Is anyone working through a travel agent instead of direct with resort? I have not heard from a WC yet but my TA has and has asked me questions through her.

I am being told that when I have my final total number of people we have to send a sheet with all the attendees names is this correct?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
