I only picked the Colonial because that's the only side of the resort our TA offered hehe...they're exactly the same though.

The Beach and the Caribe are the older parts of the resort - they're still nice but if you want something a little more upscale I'd stay at the Colonial or Tropical (4 a la cartes/week instead of 2, air conditioned buffet restaurant, larger rooms, etc.)

I am getting married here too.

Just FYI, you can set up a special arch of flowers on the beach for the ceremony for extra dollars.

You can also set up a dancefloor for the private dinner and dance, and have your own music or a DJ at the beach if you do the under the stars package.

They have 3 weddings a day, and they are at 1, 3 and 5pm

Your guests can stay in the cheaper side (Caribe Beach and Beach), and still attend your wedding at Tropical or Colonial for no extra charge!

Ok so what I've gotten so far in terms of outside vendors is they don't allow any at all - I wonder though if you'd be able to get a couple of the dancers from the entertainment staff to do something? They're really talented!

Were you given a cost for having the arch set up?

So, am I reading this correct--- the a la carte restaurants are included in the AI price, but you can only eat there if you have a 'ticket' and how many tickets you are given depends on how long you stay? So if our guests stayed for 3 nights, they would only be able to eat at the a la carte's once, and only if they made a reservation?

Ya, when you check in you get your tickets for the a la cartes and when you book the a la cartes you turn the ticket in.

You always have to make a reservation for the a la cartes and I'm not sure how many times you get to go if you're only staying 3 days because I've only ever gone for a week at a time...

Sorry!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
