Wow, life is so unfair. What a lot for one family to handle at once.

It's totally natural for you to be concerned about your wedding. You've got enough room in your emotional bank to be worried about your FFIL, AND your wedding at the same time. It doesn't mean you're selfish- it means you're practical. Yes, this could have some effect on your wedding, and how much remains to be seen. At this point, just keep moving forward, and like Alyssa said, try not to do a lot that is non-refundable until you know more. Since this is a new diagnosis, it's going to take the Drs a couple weeks to get a "game plan" but honestly, you should have a better picture of what kind of prognosis he has soon.

I'm so sorry.... hugs

Thanks girls. You're all so sweet. I'm the big loser crying at work now! Good thing my cubicle is in an out-of-the-way place so no one can see me right now. Your support means so much to me. This is me accepting all of your hugs...grouphug.gif

I'll keep everyone posted as more information becomes available. And please, keep the happy/supportive thoughts coming. They truly help.

You've probably dreamt of your wedding all of your life so it's okay to be upset at the thought of not having your dream wedding. But don't despair, everything will work out. I wish you didn't have to go through all of this, it's a lot for one person to take in especially someone who is supposed to be focusing on an event that should be happy. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear about your FFIL. I think it's only natural for you to focus on your wedding. It is a happy and positive thing to look forward to. I agree with Becks that you should continue to plan and give the family something to look forward to together and hopefully everyone will be healthier and able to be there. At the same time continue to be there for your family.

We're here for you whenever you need to talk it out. BIG HUGS!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
