so strangely enough, i wound up going to le souk last night...and realized i had been there about a year and 1/2 ago! it's a fun place and dh had a good time...i have to look into their packages tho...their food was decently priced - we had a 4 course meal with TONS of leftovers for $45/pp. however...the pitchers of sangria, which tasted like watered down fruit juice - like no alcohol in them - were $45/pitcher.

EDIT: he walked in as i was typing this so had to close quickly. will update tomorrow night - have a wedding tonight.

ok ladies, i'm back.

anyone ever hear of kion lounge? i just got off the phone w/ the event coordinator, mario, who was so nice on the phone. he said it's my party and they'll accommodate me in every way possible. it's $35 prix fix dinner (3 courses) and he'll give me open bar for $40/pp for 3 HOURS!!! AND, we'll have a private room and it's clubby later at night - but the dj isn't set for nov, so he can't tell me if it'll be indie rock or hip hop....

Lauren,

We were not in a private room, I have some pics i will dig up for you. I didn't pay for anything the entire weekend so i have no idea how much it cost but the food was really good and the service was great - it seemed like every time i needed a drink there was someone right there.

  • 3 weeks later...

ok ladies, the final spreadsheet is attached (w/ a funky name b/c i don't want dh to find it on my laptop). i checked out kion lounge and i suggest nobody ever goes there. lol, the food what not what was on the menu and it was kinda dingy and dirty. cool lights, but obviously trying to be something it's not.

so i think my final decision is stanton social. i'm going to make menus and write open bar on the bottom so people drink my money's worth...but i think i'll only do open bar for 1.5 hrs...does anyone think this is too tacky?

thanks again for all of your help - i totally appreciate it!!!

(oh yea, and we're going to spice market tomorrow for dinner during restaurant week - wound up being too $ b/c of holiday menus - bah! - but i still want to check it out.)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
