My dog was bitten... :(

I am so sad today - and just need to vent - yesterday while at a barbeque at a girlfrieds cottage - my baby-dog Jackson was bitten by another dog (Sophie). Sophie is very clean, well taken care of - thus, I was not worried about rabies etc. Sophie's owner was in hysterics over the situation, and was so worried about Jackson. I was surprisingly calm and FI was very proud that I didn't go into hysterics at the time.

Later last night when we got home, I cleaned the spot - assuming that it was just a surface scratch - near midnight, I discovered that he had been fairly badly punctured by the bite.

I took Jackson into the vet this morning (I have a fantastic vet) but, because he is a hyper Jack Russell Terrier, the vet needed to sedate him. Once the area was shaved and prepped the vet needed to to put 3 staples in his puncture wound, to seal it. Upon further investigation, another small puncture was found and simply needed surgical glue.

I have been sick with worry all morning and cannot wait for the day to be over so I can pick up my baby Jack from the clinic.

Thanks for listening - I actually feel better.

Poor pup! I'm sure he will just be thrilled to see you again that he will forget all about his boo boo wink.gif Dogs are resiliant, especially spunky little Jack Russell's! My pup was bit by the sweetest dog I have ever met, not bad enough for a vet visit, but she stuck her head in his food bowl while he was eating and he nipped her cute little jawl. She was frightened for about 2 seconds and then immediately went back to her crazyness.

Hope the baby heals soon!!

poor baby! I'm glad he's ok though. Where are the staples? be careful he doesn't pull them out...my daisy had surgery in March on her knee, we can home from dinner one night (we weren't out more than 2 hours and it was abotu 3 days before she was to have them removed) and she pulled them all out and needed an emergency trip to the vet, new staples and had to wear a bucket on her head for 3 weeks...literally, here's two pics

I am so sorry. That happened to my dog Toby about 1 1/2 years ago and the neighbor's dog bit him in this neck! We too thought he was OK since we looked for any bite marks and didn't see anything (he has really long thick hair). Then about 1 hour later we saw he was bleeding and rushed him to the vet. He too had to get sedated and had a staple in his neck. Jackson will be OK, just make sure you keep the area around the staple clean and that he doesn't scratch or bite at it. I know it is so scary - my dog is like my child and I love him so much. Know he will be OK and will be just as happy and excited to see you too when you pick him up.

My dog got bit once on the lip. It was REALLY deep. He had to get stitches and I bought him a cone. He had to wear it for like two or three weeks. His name is Trigger and We started calling him Triggy Triggy Conehead. LOL he love it. I would say it in a sing song type of voice. He still answers to me when I call him Conehead lol. OH I love my dogs they are a constant source of love and entertainment.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
