Another question...is it true that you can't take outside photogs to Dreams

I think they lifted that ban but I am not sure. They do have a list of people you can work with if they haven't.

So this has only made my decision harder! I was leaning towards MP but everyone makes such good points about Dreams... ugh! Anyone have to resort to eenie meenie miny mo?

i thought MP didn't allow outside photographers. am I wrong about that one? i'm really not sure.

yeah thats right, moon palace don't let you use outside vendors...but there are ways around it...ie the outside vendor being a guest of the hotel! There was someone on this site who done that, and had elizabeth medina as photographer!

What are the rates to stay at Dreams? Do they offer a group discount?

we were torn between dreams and moon palace too in the beginning ... and it didn't help that moon palace is a golf resort and FH and his family like to golf! i also liked the jacuzzis in all rooms, and was in love with the horse-drawn carriage (no word yet on whether dreams can arrange something like this, but i'm thinking no).

 

i was swayed toward dreams by location, location, location ... quick ride from the airport and 5 minute walk to everything. liked its size too, and its beaches are MUCH prettier (IMO) with turquoise crystal-clear water and unseaweedy coastline (heard moon is seaweedy ... i'll go to the jersey shore for that, thanks! check out mp brides' photos for proof of beach conditions). i liked dreams' wedding gazebo above all else, and also loved the dolphins. the fact that there were no reservations or wristbands required was also a plus for me. the final selling point was that dreams started coming up cheaper and then offered a "kids stay, play, & eat FREE" promotion (we have a lot of guests with children who otherwise probably couldn't have afforded it).

 

however, if you don't require a private reception, i think moon's wedding package is more affordable ... and i love that horse-drawn carriage! at dreams you are pretty much paying for a private reception, or not having one ... the restaurants aren't really big enough for large parties and there are no reservations so you'd be chancing it.

we chose moon palace over dreams because of the horse carriage and gazebos. it was really important for my guests to stay under the shade during the ceremony. we are having a catholic ceremony and needed a chapel onsite at the resort. moon won us over =)

We are also choosing dreams but are going down for a site visit within the next 3 weeks so maybe I can report back ouir findings. But I'm sure glad Dreams is close to everything.

 

I was wondering for you ladies that had your wedding at dreams, are there any unusual or out of the box enertainers or surprises available at dreams? We heard fireworks and maybe fire performers might by? Any info from anyone? Thanks!
