In the begining those were my two choices also. Both are wonderful. Moon is a little farther out and Dreams is in the heart of Cancun. I was going to do Dreams for the convenience factor. But only changed because we got engaged in Cabo and love it.

I chose dreams because it is so close to everything else. Everyone can walk into town if they want. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for. What must the hotel offer? What do you like and dislike about both?

It seems as if Dreams has better beaches but the pools at Moon Palace. I hear the food is better at Dreams compared to Moon Palace. I also did like how Dreams was closer to the nightlife....but just can't decide between the two. What do you all think about the rooms at each resort?? Moon has the jacuzi in all rooms but at Dreams this is only an upgrade...

Hmmm as for the pool, me personally, I would choose the ocean over the pool any day. As for the hottubs let the people upgrade if they want one. Pick the hotel for you and what you want. People will enjoy their stay no matter what. There is a ton of info on both places here, I say investigate and make a list of what you want then figure out which one has it. I fell in love with Dreams before I found this site then reading everything people had to say it reconfirmed my love for it. But I haven't really looked into Moon Palace at all. Which is cheaper? Remember your guests might be strapped for cash...

Not to say anything negative about the Moon but I would choose Dreams for much the same reasons others already gave. The Hotel Zone offers so much more as far as nightlife, shopping, restaurants and things to do that you just cannot find at resorts that are located in the Riviera Cancun and Riviera Maya. Therefore, my vote is to go with the Dreams Resort, plus you gotta love their on-site dolphins (who doesn't love dolphins, LOL!?!?).

Have Fun Planning,

I'm a Moon Palace bride. When it came time to choose a resort, we were debating between dreams and MP. This is why we choose MP...

- We've stayed at Palace resorts before and had an AMAZING time

- I get to arrive in a Horse Drawn Carriage lol

- Jaczzie in every room

- Excursions included if guests stay 3 or more nights (Tulum, Chiten Itza, Isla Mujeras, Coba)

- If you stay at one Palace resort, you can go to any (we are planning a trip to the Cancun Palace for the day after the wedding...AMAZING beach and I believe they provide shuttles every 4 hours)

- The resort is HUGE...there's something for everyone.

I'm sure there are more reasons. If you have any questions, just ask!

Moon Palace, Dreams and Le Blanc were my short list.

We have around 40-56 people coming from both sides of the family, including some divorced people, so we chose Moon Palace because it is soooo big! Means we can request people to stay in different buildings, and then reduce the change of them bumping into each other except on the day of the wedding hopefully.

I really liked Dreams because of the dolphins, but H2B wasn't too keen for some weird reason!lol maybe because my love for dolphins would maybe shadow my love for him?!hee hee

Le Blanc is absolutely gorgeous but not big enough for what we are looking for for the wedding, so we are going there for our honeymoon - can't wait, we will have a butler!SOLD!!lol

I think it's best to make a list about what is important to you because the two resorts are very different.

For me, I felt that Moon Palace was too big, I wanted a resort that was big enough that people had options for eating and things to do, but small enough that we would still run into each other during the day. Dreams fit into that.

I loved that MP has the horse drawn carriage, but size was more important to me, so that won out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
