Table runner

Recommended Posts

Isn't is amazing how much some simple color changes that whole picture. I have this idea that I want all our 30-40 guest to sit at one big table for dinner (don't know how this is going to work but it's a goal!) I too am thinking about bringing my own table runners. I have seen pictures in magazines where they use several runners to go across the short dimention of the table. I'm not sure if I am being clear but it looks really nice. Let us see how the DIY projects turn out - it seems like to should be pretty simple.

If you'd like to have the look in the pictues, it looks like a custom job. Most rental companies rent in only one width.

You can recreate by renting in one color and running wide width ribbon down the middle. Double sided tape may be necessary to hold the fabric down depending upon you centerpieces.

Red and orange will be beautiful by the way!!!
Jeanetta,

I am so glad you are back to the board! You always have such awesome ideas & explain them in a totally understandable way. I am considering doing this now - and you may remember how anti-DIY I am. Thanks!

It's not expensive. Mine are $6 per table for a custom wide width satin runner and custom satin napkins. Chair sashes are $3 per.

I looked into making them myself. Given the hassel (and trying to make sure that the fabric would match the chair sashes as I didn't want to make 65 chair sashes and 65 napkins) and the effort needed to get them there (I'm bringing so much for the OOT bags) it was definitely worth $50 to have Maye get them for me.

Kelli - I love the look of your inspiration photo! Are you going to do the chinese lanterns as well? I was thinking of doing this as well - orientaltrading.com has very good prices on all different types of chinese lanterns if you are looking.

We didn't eat at the Melia. We walked through it. It's very big. We didn't even have a drink because it wasn't the vibe we were going for. I would chose the Hilton or Casa del Mar for dinner over the Melia. You know, why don't you email Claudia at Casa del Mar (grupos@casadelmarmexico.com)? They have a dinner area on the beach that they surround with tiki torches. Tell them that you don't want a private party, you just want to have a group of 7 to 10 on the beach. They'll accommodate. The food is very good there. Also, if you don't want to eat on the beach, they have a little restaurant with great views. This would be a more romantic option versus the Sheraton without having to pay extra money for a private party.

If you have an Old Time Pottery store or something similar (sam's club style home goods store) they sell ribbon that is about 10-12" wide and comes in really long lengths. The edges are already finished and all that needs to be done is unroll the ribbon down your tables and cut the ends - I did this for our thanksgiving party (no pictures - sorry) and it was super cheap. 8.99 for 10 yards of fabric - it was a gold transparent ribbon and was gorgeous over white linens. This could be an option for a super cheap and easy runner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
