What did your groom wear to the wedding?

Recommended Posts

My guy and I are having a debate about what he should wear. I've told him that its going to be hot and possibly humid in Jamaica and that he should look for a light/breathable suit preferably in a light color. (He doesn't have a suit to wear in the spring/summer so I thought this would also make a great addition to his wardrobe.) He wants to rent a tuxedo and "be dressed in style" on his big day. I'm concerned that he'll be really hot and uncomfortable. What did your guy wear to the wedding? Help me give him some great options.

hi my now husband wore black pants, a white shirt and waistcoat it would have been way too hot if he had a jacket on as well, the bestman wore the same as did both dads and they were complaining it was too hot, tho it was only for the ceremony and 1 hour or so of pics after. We did see a couple of weddings were the groom had a tux on!

My husband wore his military dress blues for our pre-ceremony pics and the actual ceremony ... but he was sweating in balls off the moment he stepped outside in it.

We had khaki pants and a light shirt for him to change into for the reception ... and he changed almost the MOMENT the ceremony was over b/c he was ssoo hot.

We are glad he wore his dress blues ... but just as glad we had a second outfit for him to change into.

Here are pics of each outfit:

My DH wore a tux - totally his idea. I told him to wear linen pants and a dress shirt. We got married in January, but it was still insanely hot. Sam rolled his tux pants up after the ceremony and took off the jacket, so that helped a bit. We both made it through dinner, but changed right after cutting the cake.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
