My guy and I are having a debate about what he should wear. I've told him that its going to be hot and possibly humid in Jamaica and that he should look for a light/breathable suit preferably in a light color. (He doesn't have a suit to wear in the spring/summer so I thought this would also make a great addition to his wardrobe.) He wants to rent a tuxedo and "be dressed in style" on his big day. I'm concerned that he'll be really hot and uncomfortable. What did your guy wear to the wedding? Help me give him some great options.

        HI

My plan is to wear a nice linen suit and pants. I think a rented tux is gonna be a bad idea with the heat in JA.

hi my now husband wore black pants, a white shirt and waistcoat it would have been way too hot if he had a jacket on as well, the bestman wore the same as did both dads and they were complaining it was too hot, tho it was only for the ceremony and 1 hour or so of pics after. We did see a couple of weddings were the groom had a tux on!

I think that if I had wore a black tux to my wedding in July I would have stabbed myself in the neck to end the torture. It was hot hot hot on the beach in Mexico in July.

I wore a tan linen suit and I was still roasting.

My husband wore his military dress blues for our pre-ceremony pics and the actual ceremony ... but he was sweating in balls off the moment he stepped outside in it.

We had khaki pants and a light shirt for him to change into for the reception ... and he changed almost the MOMENT the ceremony was over b/c he was ssoo hot.

We are glad he wore his dress blues ... but just as glad we had a second outfit for him to change into.

Here are pics of each outfit:

My DH wore a tux - totally his idea. I told him to wear linen pants and a dress shirt. We got married in January, but it was still insanely hot. Sam rolled his tux pants up after the ceremony and took off the jacket, so that helped a bit. We both made it through dinner, but changed right after cutting the cake.

My husband wore a light blue linen short and linen pants. He was fine for the wedding at 4:00 but changed into shorts for our beach reception.
