I am so frustrated. I have been working on my STDs and all was going well until I tried to get the Hibiscus front from dafont.com. I spent 3 hours trying to get the font last night and bit my FIs head off because he could not help me. I've read most of the other threads and I still can't figure out what I am doing. The most frustrating is I got a couple of other fonts from the site. AHHHHHHHHHH!!

I'v found the font, got it on my desktop and then get an error when I try to open it. I think in all of my messing around last night I changed one of the settings because my computer wants to open it in wordpad and I can't get that changed. Now I can't find fontviewer on my computer.

I attached the font here. Put the old one in the trash. Download this one.

How to install a font under Windows:

Unzip the files you have downloaded.

Details : Click on the "Download" button, save the zip somewhere on your hard disk, go to the place where it is saved, double-click on the zip to open it, then either click on "Extraxt all files" or drag and drop the files elsewhere from the zip window (hold down the CTRL key to select several files at once)

For the 20th century versions of Windows you must install an unzip tool first.

* Under Windows Vista :

Select the font files (.ttf, .otf or .fon) then Right-click > Install

* Under any version of Windows :

Place the font files (.ttf, .otf or .fon) into the Fonts folder, usually C:WindowsFonts or C:WINNTFonts

(can be reached as well by the Start Menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Fonts).

Note that with the internal unzip tool of Windows (unlike Winzip), you cannot install a font by a simple drag and drop of the .ttf from the zip window to the Fonts window. You must first drag and drop it anywhere (for example on the desktop) then in the Fonts folder.

You can also go through : File > Install a new font... in the Fonts folder menu then browse the fonts, instead of drag and drop the fonts into the window. Although this method is laborious, it would seem that it functions better in certain cases.

Tip : if you punctually need a font, you don't need to install it. Just double-click on the .ttf file, and while the preview window is opened you can use it in most of the programs you'll launch (apart from a few exceptions like OpenOffice).

you have enough now, i just donated 200 to you

if you haven't read the thread about how you earn points, definitely do that. it will help you understand how to utilize your points and how much certain things cost to open (i.e. an attachment costs 50 points)

Ah, Maura, you softie, you!

If Mauras way of loading the font doesn't work, change the extension of the font (the stuff after the dot) to anything... ABC... whatever.

Then COPY and paste (don't cut) the file somewhere (anywhere) else on your computer.

then rename the file with the .ttf and move the new version into C://Windows/Fonts. I had a few that didn't play nicely, and this seemed to get the job done.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
