I Am Totally Floooored....

I think you make a very good point Jean-Marcus. There is nothing wrong with having a big fancy ring, or house or anything materialistic, the problem is when you let it define who you are and what you do with your life. Materials can be taken away, and even replaced, but your life, your love, your soul can not be replaced so easily.

I agree it's not about the ring it's about how people treat the ring. I didn't care what my husband bought me I said "If you are thinking of me when you buy it that is all that matters". I had friends tell me I was stupid because I would be wearing this for the rest of my life I better get what I likehuh.gif? But honestly I think that is silly to place that much on a ring. My biggest pet peeve is when people say look at my ring and say so how big is it?? I am like reallyhuh.gif? It's almost like asking how much I make a year..NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS...it's my ring and I am happy.. : )

lololol, how funny, I laugh because I was talking to erik about this subject this morning. My sister is the same way about the ring.....long story short she won't wear the ring her boyfriend/fiance gave her because she doesn't like it....the ring is currently in his sock drawer

I think he is going to try to change it since he can't return it....add more diamonds to it or something...I don't know...

If I was a guy and I spent the time picking out a ring for the woman I loved and she turned me down or refused to wear it because she didn't like it or it wasn't big enough, I would truely be hurt.

I think that even if my FI had gotten me a ring that I would have never picked out in a million years, I would still like it for the mare fact that he chose it and it reflects his love for me. I would see it differently after getting it from him than I would in the display case in the store!

I think he is hurt about it too....He told me all this after a few glasses of wine, so I got the whole story, I also confronted my sister and exclaimed that she was acting like the type of people she says she dislikes....materialistic people. I feel sorry for him but it's not my business.

This is what I told my sis but she says it's different, also she said she didn't want the ring since she has a plain ring from him that she wears on her ring finger (just a gift no meaning wedding wise behind it)....just wants to add diamonds on it to change it.....The ring is nice but like she stated above "he gave it to her'""' UM NO, he gave her a nice simple ring, she didn't like it so she went back to Tiffany's and changed it for the one she wears now....so technically she is not wearing the ring he gave her, she is wearing the ring she got herself.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
