bridal shower question

Recommended Posts

Is this just for the bride or is it for both?

I get confused with all the parties involved. I wasn't planning on registering because we were hoping people would just come to mexico and I know most in my family give money for weddings but all my friends keep asking. Is this for a bridal shower?

I don't expect two gifts so I guess I am a little confused. hmm

thanks

I believe traditionally it is a party thrown for the bride and the ladies that are invited to the wedding go to the shower, but you can really do anything you want. I have heard of Jack and Jill showers where its pretty much a BBQ and friends so I say do whatever you want!

Here's a BIG, kind of silly question I have. Is the Bride suppose to know when the Bridal Shower is to take place? Or is it more like a surprise to the bride from her cohostess/friends. Also, I've already registered with an on-line Honeymoon Registry, and I'm thinking about registering with Bed Bath & Beyond mainly because of my Back Home Reception. So should there be a bridal shower for me? I mean wouldn't that be way to many gifts to expect from family & friends? Advice please....

Traditionally the bridal shower is for the bride and women only.

We are doing a mixed-gender "bride and groom" shower with all our fam/friends. We also were not going to register since we thought people coming to our wedding was insane enough, but people kept asking every five seconds so one day I went after work and registered for some things.

I think usually you know when it is - every shower/party that was thrown for us, the host/hostess ok'd the date with us ahead of time, and sent us a copy of the invitation.

And sorry about that triple post earlier!!! I don't know what happened!!! OOPS!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
