Nuevo Vallarta Locations

Okay!!! So, I have almost been deadset on Puerto Vallarta (maybe Villa Celeste , Villa Mystique or something along those lines). However, my fiance is from Mexico and says it's too "toursity" for him. Are there any locations nearby that are just as unique...maybe a private villa or spa...in Nuevo Vallarta or the surrounding areas? I don't really dig big resorts.

 

I've also considered Costa Careyes because it is AMAZING!!! But I think it's too far out considering the budget. Plus, I don't want guests to have to travel too far out from the airport.

This is one of the real estate agents that's famous in Nuevo Vallarta for having some of the best villa rentals ... Casa China Blanca - El Farallon - Costa Banderas - North Shore Puerto Vallarta - La Punta Realty, Punta de Mita luxury real estate and vacation rentals - Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The one villa I've worked at several times in Nuevo Vallarta is China Blanca - I like the villa but it is very stark/modern. But I'm sure, if that's not your style, La Punta Realty can help you find something else.

 

You might also consider looking at villa rentals in Sayulita and San Pancho (it's also called San Francisco). Sayulita is about an hour north of Vallarta and San Pancho is about 5 minutes further north. Some really beautiful villas in both places. Sayulita is sortof a hippie community and has some great artistic shops - slightly "touristy" but not overly. San Pancho is definitely more rustic - but we drove by some amazing villas (at least from the outside!).

Thanks so much! I will definitely look into it! I have researched China Blanca also...it is beautiful, but you are right...it is very modern.

Does you FI have any suggestions since he is from Mexico possibly a small private section?

Yes, I think he probably does have some suggestions. He has mentioned Cabo, which, to me, seems just as "touristy" as PV. Also, his sister-in-law lived in Cabo with her ex-husband. I really don't want to drag her there and bring up negative memories. The problem is:

 

He is Catholic (even though he doesn't attend church on a regular basis) and he sort of wants to get married in a Catholic church. I think Catholic churches (especially in Mexico) are gorgeous and I think Catholicism is a beautiful! But, when it comes down to it, I am non-denominational and would prefer to get married in nature.

 

I think he understands and he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the beach, so I think it is the "next best thing" to him. In fact, he might even prefer it. He kind of swings back and forth on this issue. Of course, in a way, I feel guilty and don't want to pester him on locations. But I probably will once we get "officially" engaged. LOL!

You just made me think of something .... I know your guy doesn't like PV .... but a good compromise (to the whole catholic thing) would be the chapel at Hacienda San Angel - it is absolutely gorgeous. You could get married there and then go to the Botanical Gardens (outside of town, really pretty) or even go back up north for the reception. Anyway, just a thought .

I had another thought! You could recreate a "chapel" outside ... one time we did this wedding where we created two stained glass (they weren't stained glass - but we painted them to look like they were) pieces at the front of the ceremony - you could have something similar done and, then, have additional ones on each side to give it an "outdoor chapel" feel.

 

I was thinking about this glass church we saw one time in Arkansas - even the ceiling was made of glass!

 

Anyway, just a thought!

You are so creative Mishka! I checked out Hacienda San Angel...it really is beautiful. I love how the chapel opens up to a view of the ocean. It's religious, but still with a natural element. I also love your "outdoor chapel" idea.

 

I spent some time viewing your galleries and I can see how you make such a wonderful event designer. Your events are absolutely gorgeous!!!
