Who is doing plated and who is dping buffet? How did you come to that decision? Cant decide

We're having a buffet because we I'm personally not a big fan of picking my meal ahead of time. Sometimes when you see it you just want it! haha, and what if it's not what you picked? We also wanted people to have the freedom to have seconds, just more laid back. At any rate, at Azul Fives if you have your reception at the sky deck you can only have buffet or family style, but our decision for buffet was made way before we chose the sky deck :D

Good point that I did not think of... time is VERY appreciated to party more (who cares about food) LOL!!!..I am considering the change to the BBQ Deluxe...for some reason it  doesn't sound right on a wedding...(this is my personal opinion only) we were thinking and mostly settled on the steak and lobster sit down, but now I am second guessing.

Quesion!!!

Who is having mariachi? I think I read about girls who regretted it.

I want mariachi, but I don't know if we can justified the $950 for 6 mariachi instrument (its kinda of pricey-basically double the real price)

Any thoughts??? what are you girls doing?

@@linaco80..i know right! Ive heard great things about buffet. Ive always wanted a plated dinner but dang....i dont wanna cut the party. Its only 4 hours. We were offering the steak and lobster, mahi mahi and a vegan option..my heart was set on family style but it would add $600 to budget..it adds up ya know. I also wanted Mariachi's but i went with the flamenco guitarist. Less than maraichi's and have you heard daft punk in flamemco? Awesome.

@@carrieandsam are  you still having Mariachi? (you said that you were going to)

@@BecomingaRiggio so you are also going for the BBQ Deluxe? I am seriously considering. My FI family does not eat seafood at all, he still prefers the sit down because he says it is better for a wedding..oh well, if people dance and party they don't care about the food. BTW...Your headcount increased tremendously so did the cost I bet...Everything adds up ridiculously!!!

I had mariachi and now I am taking it off LOL, I have not heard daft punk in flamenco? do they have that? how can I find it and listen to it?

I cant even find the flamenco :(

Maybe I do the cheap version of Mariachi ...the Mexican trio LOL

@@carrieandsam. I was thinking of having the guitarist during cocktail hour.

@@linaco80 the decision between menus has been my bridezilla momemt this week. I have a call with Coordinator tommorrow. Its going to depend on if they cam do 2 lines for buffet and make the "garnishes" a little more "local" sounding. Im goimg to ask her if she thinks we can be done w plated in 1hr15min max!! Yes costs have doubled, but mostly due to airfare out of Dallas and we decided to stay 7 nights instead of 5. If you go on youtube and put daft punk flamenco, it will come up. Also under Lomas Travel under planning, music.

@tiffanyfox. Did you like the set up at buffet? Did they make it look nice n fancy?

@@linaco80 trios are really nice too. Dont underestimate them.. they are excellent alternative to mariachis. Our crowd if from Miami so Flamenco is right up their alley

@@BecomingaRiggio Awesome!!!..please share...still 1 hour and 15 mins sounds a bit long, but I guess the count you have requires this time. The great thing about the BBQ is the variety..still sit down was our first pick!!! ugh decisions!!! I need to turn ASAP since the wedding is coming quick! I dont even know my bouquet type yet, but I am not going fancy on flowers at all.

I will check the flamenco on Youtube I know it is $650..I also looked quickly at the Mexican trio for  $650 and we would do it right after the ceremony and for the cocktail hour. what time does your ceremony start?

and who in the world said planning a wedding is fun???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
