I just bought a roll of fishing line. Ended up using this to hang the LED throwies inside and then gave the rest to the WC to use. To be honest, I am not sure if they used the fishing line or not. I think as long you have a roll of string/line/etc. that will be plenty. And they did charge us to hang the lanterns...although it was all put together in a lump sum with our table decor, etc.

Only a few minor details to go! I agree it really did come around so quickly! We got engaged in November 2011 and at the time March 2013 seemed like it was ages away!!! How about you?

I was wondering the same thing - good to know. I was also wondering if you bought the LED lights for each lantern, or just a few lanterns? The LED lights add up to be pretty expensive if you have 30 lanterns... At least the LED lights I found were like $4 each.

I think by doing the LED throwies and ordering the batteries and LEDs from China I think my total for the 30 lights was maybe $35-40. Here's a link to how to build them: http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Throwies/ You don't need the magnet, just small alligator clips you can buy at Staples to hold the LEDs to the battery. There are links on that page to where to buy for cheap. Essentially you need LEDs(2-3 per throwie), batteries (1 per throwie), alligator clips (1 per throwie), electric tape, cardboard /plastic (to make your on/off switch)(one small piece per throwie) and fishing line. If you need more detailed help go to this thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/37079/diy-led-lights-for-paper-lanterns or message me.

Great info... The led lights for the lanterns always confused me. Thank you!!

I just found out tableclothsfactory.com is having a 20% site wide sale on their already super cheap table clothes, chair sashes, etc.

I have been procrastinating with table runners, etc and now I'm all "oh i have to order today!" haha SOOO... does anyone know what the measurements are of the round tables that they have at the plaza zavaz for a private reception? Also, I am planning on having a table for the cake, a table for guest book, etc. Does anyone know the sizes of those tables? OH- and the table at the end of the aisle for the ceremony...?

ANY input would be great! I'd like to check this off my list but I don't want to under order.

Thanks, girls!

Hi! So I bought these little lights at michaels called celebration lights, they look like little bullets and come in a pack of 12 for $9.99. We are going to use 2 in each lantern and they have little holes in the top so you can just tie some fishing line and hang them from the metal part of the lantern- super easy and inexpensive!! The rest of the fishing line I will give to them to hang the lanterns with. I was going to do the LED throwies but this seemed easier lol.   I believe we bought lanterns varying in size from 8, 12 , and 16. As for the tables they are 5 ft across and round so you will need to buy 120" tablecloths. As for runners we are trying to get ones that are either 90 or 108 inches long and about 12 inches wide. Not sure about the tables for the guestbook or cake thats actually a really good question!! I will ask my coordinator and if you find out let me know thanks!!

Hi Ladies,

We are leaving tomorrow and getting married on Thursday.  Without the help of this forum I would not be nearly as organized and calm as I am right now.  We are watching tv and drinking wine! I can't wait to get to the resort tomorrow.  I will be sure to let you all know how it goes and give any advice that I think may be helpful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
