Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I got a package thru Caribe Photographers but I lucked out too as well because 2 of my guests are professional Photographers and have offered to help out. http://www.caribephoto.com/ I got the package for 3 hours I figure 3p-6p that will cover the ceremony and the photos after as well as the first hour of dances and such at the reception. Before and After that I am going to depend on my guests that have offered. AlsoIt was all I could do with my budget. I hope that helps!

I'm having the sky wedding ceremony at around 3 pm and then cocktails at 4 pm -4:30 pm and then the dinner reception at 6 pm till 11 pm at Zavaz plaza. How long would I need the photographer and videographer around for?? I've never really dealt with this before so would it be for like 8 hours....because if so, it would be horrendously expensive! any ideas???

Has anyone negotiated with the photographers or did you just book through Lomas' packages?

Thanks Ladies!! :)

Also, what is everyone doing for their guestbook? I don't want to do a normal book for people to sign and I'm trying to think of something different.

I posted a link to my "mixbook" guestbook a few pages back if you want to take a look at it.  I used pics of my fiance and I at our engagement session as well as pics of us over the years.  The words in the book are the lyrics of our first song.

There are tons of girls who married on the sky terrace.  Check out the reviews for the resort.  I think two of the girls that posted there were married up there.  It looked beautiful!

I would not consider moving, EXCEPT, we are having a very small wedding and the only rooms that have booked were my family - so my FI doesn't have anyone coming and he is disappointed.  Fives has a cheaper plan, so this would allow more to go.  Also, if I don't book my photographer (my BFF) then she may have to pay the outside vendor fee and then three, if I don't get at least one more room, I don't get the 20% discount.

I am sad and stressed.  Sad because Sensatori looks awesome and I can't find any other posts!  I trust you all so much now and just don't know what to do.  It is our second marriage, so I am trying not to stress, I know it doesn't have to be "perfect".... I just love luxury and Sensatori looks like it has it!!!

Anyone been there, I am pleading for your help!!!!

Thanks guys!!

Good luck Ginnigurl, that is very stressful!  I hope everything works out for you!!

Should we move to 5 pm Wedding and 7 pm Reception?

Could you maybe do an hour and a half for pictures or does it have to be either 1 hour or 2?  If you're only getting pics of the two of you as a couple, I would probably want to explore the resort and get a whole bunch of unique shots.  So, that may take a little bit longer.

I have a site through Shutterfly that I set up it.  It's actually really cute.

Like Maggie said, you could have friends take some photos before (and just set up some things like a photographer would).  Do you want pics of the reception?  I'm guessing you could probably get away with 5-6 hours which I know is still pricey.  If you don't need any pics at the reception, you could go less but I'm not sure how you feel about that.  Good luck deciding!!

Hi Nada,

I booked Sweet Carribean Photography. They wwere wonderful to work with and I love thier work! I emailed them and asked for information on packages. I worked with Tina.

Initially they were a little over my budget, so I emailed back with what i would like to spend and they totally worked with me to create my own, more affordable package AND they are paying the outside vendor fee! They have been terrific to work with so far.

Good luck!

You aren't leaving yourself much time for the wedding. If your wedding lasts 30 mins......and you are there right on time, that only leaves 30 mins for photos. My suggestion would be to move to the 5pm/7pm option. Then you won't feel as though you are rushing through everything, and can get all of the professional photos you were hoping for.

I agree. We had our wedding at 5 and scheduled for the reception to start at 6:30 and that was still not enough time.  we didn't get alot of the traditional photos that i thought I would want because daylight was gone by 7pm.  I felt like the coordinators was rushing us to get things going.  I am thankful for a great photographer. I told him I wanted candid shots so I am sure he got them all.  So plan for 5-7 and you'll be better off! Provide drinks and everyone is happy.

My advice is to talk with Ivan Luckie!!!  He was my photographer and he truly was working hard for me and giving us all the attention we needed.  I didn't have to coach him or wonder if he was catching every moment.  He was all over everything between him and his assistant.  I am his #1 fan without even having my pics back yet.  He stayed until the very end of my reception which was like 1 am without even questioning it ( he arrived on time at 1pm and stayed til 1am).  He was so sweet and you can tell he was very dedicated.  My entire family and friends were raving about him.  He prices were way better than LOMAS and I can guarantee he is definitely worth talking to!  Our TTD was awesome too.

If your photographer is staying for the reception-yes. If they are only photographing your ceremony, then no.

Yes, there is a charge for the white sheers. The best thing going was the "exotic gazebo", $220 included 2 white sheers, and two large flower bouquets which can hang on the gazebo, be placed on tables, etc. And if the WC in Miami tell you it will be the candy wrapped look, like in the picture, just ignore them. The WC on site will hang the sheers anyway you want.

For guestbook, we had a whiteboard and asked guests to write their wishes on the board and then take a picture. We will (when we have time) put all the photos together into one of those photobooks.

Are you doing a sunset ceremony? Otherwise, you may want to check the sunset times, since it will likely be dark shortly after your ceremony. Check with the photographer how and when the best time for some photos would be. I would suggest at least an hour between, so my vote would be 5pm/7pm.

Thanks for the feedback about the curfew thing....I know our company will want to party into the night so I was even thinking of renting out one of the ballrooms for a few hours after Zavaz plaza to have a midnight buffet and dance up there. But I guess just chilling out at the mojito lounge would be chill too. I was just at the sensatori 2 weeks ago and I LOVED the swinging beds in the coffee lounge.  Any suggestions on what I should do? Move the party upstairs to the hall or just kinda let people do their own thing (mojito lounge, coffee bar, etc)?

Any suggestions (from anyone) would be greatly appreciated!! :) thanks!

We liked the option of people doing what they wanted. So after dinner was done, if they wanted to party with us they did, but many were tired and headed to bed. It will likely be a lot of money to rent the ballroom for later, maybe just plan for the Mojioto bar. We didn't really have a plan and after the reception was done everyone loved the 'coffee hut' area, mind you our family are all huge musicians, so we had a sing-a-long with guitars, bongos, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
