No, you are not alone. I have not tried on ONE dress nor entered a bridal store. I cannot bring myself to do so until I loose some weight. Vain and risky, I know.....but, you are ahead of me if you have even tried on one dress. :-)

Hey girls... I know I promised more pics last night, but I came down with a cold and haven't been able to pull myself to the computer.  Ugh.  At least I got sick AFTER my vacation.

Anywho... I promise I'll post more pics and respond to some of the specific questions (hopefully tonight, but could be tomorrow).  Just didnt want you to think I was halfway sending things then ignoring you all :).

I found my dress, but it was so accidental. Originally the plan was to find a few dresses I liked and then travel to show my future MIL and my sister, and let them help me choose. It was on a day when I was just out looking for different styles that I found one I feel in love with. And I was on my own. So don't worry, you'll find the right one in due time. The only thing to worry about, is that the closer you wait to the wedding, it just means you will likely have to buy one off the rack, ie. what's in store. Because ordering a dress usually take 4-6 months. (that's what I was told, but I am sure they can rush order things too) Good luck.

Hi Ladies,

Quick question for you all.  Is ANYONE having any luck with their WC these days and with negotiating the prices on ANYTHING?!  I finally got a reply from Carolina from a few emails I've sent over the past few weeks.  One was inquiring about flowers/bouts/corsages etc.  and asking if there's any kind of quantity rate available and so forth if we get X types in certain amounts.  (You may all recall my wedding is pretty big so looking at 9 bouts, 4 corsages, 6 bm bouquets etc).  She came back with this:

Unfortunately when it comes to our onsite florists, they have the set prices and do not work around the prices since all flowers are usually importedL I did update the detail sheet with all of the flowers you gave me though..honestly, the best bet would maybe bring artificial ones or have them wear a flower in their hair…but I definitely know what you mean, Iâ€m sorry that my hands are tied regarding the flowers…I always hear complaints and I feel terrible I canâ€t do anything, so I try to give you other optionsJ

I feel like this is all I ever hear from her "Sorry, I can't do anything".  What exactly is her purpose then, other than writing things on the detail sheet?  Should I stop bothering to try and get anything negotiated?

sorry this is rant-ish.  I'm frustrated after waiting weeks just to hear this again.

Chong - Both of these locations are great.  I preferred the one next to the Beach BBQ since it was at the end of the resort and would be more private.  My FI liked the one with the yoga platform because it made for a really cool dancefloor set up!  To be honest, there probably aren't too many people wondering around on the beach 7-11pm, so I'm sure both places are good for privacy.

Which beach gazebo are you using?  If you are using the one by the pier, I would maybe suggest having your reception by the yoga platform.  This way it would feel like you are going somewhere different for the reception instead of just a few yards over.

Thank you guys for the "get well" wishes!

I am about to make the last minute changes to our wedding details before our final payment is due and saw your suggestion about using the yoga area for the dance floor. Is that beach area nice? I saw your comment about the beach bbq area being the best, private location for the wedding reception... what do you think? I am planning to have the beach wedding & reception and do not have a good idea what it's going to look like. I am guessing they do not want to have the ceremony and reception at the same location... but not sure exactly where. Thanks for the help!

Okie Dokie... I uploaded all of the pictures from my March site visit too.

I'm sure this is photo overload, but I figured better to share too many pics than too little!   The jpeg of each photo is pretty large, so if there are specific ones you'd like me to send you just let me know the title(s).  I can probably fit 2-3 per email.

Enjoy!

Hello,

Just need to vent a little.  FI is mad at me about pricing for our honeymoon week.  It will be an extra 800 for each of us to stay the extra week.  I was okay with this but my FI is still mad I didn't book us somewhere with "bride and groom stay free" and thinks my TA is just taking advantage and making money off us.  He wants me to tell my TA that is too much money and that he should do better for us.  or what?  im not sure.  We have obviously signed our contract, booked our guests, I have explained to him all the reasons we chose this resort (kid friendly, catholic ceremony, close to airport, nice resort with good food) and this is the resort we chose.  Anyways, he is still mad and wants me to email.  he is actually looking over my shoulder and thinking I am writing to our TA now, lol, obviously I am not!!  Also thinks I am too nice and letting TA take advantage of us.  I am not a confrontational person and I think our TA is being honest with us about pricing from the suppliers.  I am not paying for the wedding, he is, so he does get a say but still!!  he is driving me crazy!!  So much for an easy beach wedding lol!  i know it will be all worth it, but this is what I'm dealing with!  Thanks for listening, I feel like no one else understands what I'm going through.  Thank God for this forum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
