This is definitely good to know and be aware of... but just realize that doesn't mean they are going out of business or stopping flights. Filing bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean the business has closed it's doors.

Ditto this.  However, it might still be something to tell my guests (if they're choosing b/w airlines, as they might cancel flights on some routes as a means to save themselves).

You'll be out before you know it!!

Thanks ladies who commented on the cardbox.  Totally set my mind at ease that it is not something to bother myself with worrying about.

I'm going away on vacation tomorrow!!!  YAY!  Just going to visit the FI's family mostly.  But they live on the Jersey Shore so hopefully I can convince him of a day or two on the beach.  Also will get to see my BFF's new baby up in NY.  Living in Vancouver we only get home to see them all a couple times a year so it will be all exciting because we haven't seen anyone since the engagement!

10 days without work or wedding stress (still lots of wedding talk I'm sure, but no planning and stress).  woot.gif

Hopefully you ladies won't have filled up 50 pages for me to read when I get back (but somehow I doubt that).  msnwink.gif

I'll miss ya'll tho and will probably try and check in once or twice while I'm there.

so i am very happy with my pictures, he did an amazing job almost look like a photo shot for a magazine the trashing the dress was amazing and he was the most afforable photographer.

I put his link on the site (below) it under events my wedding is there.

what i liked most is that he took pictures at the reception of all of us hanging out dancing drinking and so on,.  when i was looking up photographers I only found some that would take pictures of the "wedding party"

that upset me.

hope you like my pictures

Have a great trip! I know what it is like to be really far away from family and friends! My maid of honor (who lives the closest) is about a 2 hour drive. My other BM and sister are a 4 hour flight! And FI family is 5 hour drive away as well.....sigh....

I'm probably way behind here and giving you information you already know but I figured out where the reviews go now!

If you are doing a review of a resort/wedding, it looks as though you use Resorts & Villas and then if it's for a vendor, you go there (find the resort/vendor you want to review) and then type away.

:o)

I've been wondering, thanks!

Soo cute!  Were you thinking of using this dress for the reception?

Deciding on a dress is hard!!  What type of wedding are you anticipating?  Do you want your guests in shirt & ties and formal dresses?  Or do you want them in beachy wear?  Go with the theme of your wedding and how you envision it.  I wanted flowy and beachy (men in flip flops) so I got a beachy dress.  I saw 2 other weddings while there and they were both much more formal than mine - and I have to admit - a formal wedding on the beach was a really cool contrast - I could not imagine it myself until I saw it.  And I liked it a lot!

I"m still trying to decide whether or not to get married before we get to Mexico... I'm not sure I want to do the blood test and everything once we're there. Any advice?  Are you glad you got legally married before?  Not sure what to do sad.gif

Thanks!

I was very happy that we chose to get legally married first.  I was so much more relaxed in Mexico.  He was too.  But on our legal day we both has stomach aches we were so nervous!  LOL

However, we kind of had to do it.  FI got transferred to Boston in Sept and was moving back to Bermuda once we got married in Mexico.  We needed to be married w/ a marriage certificate for him to be put on my work permit while he looked for jobs.  We couldn't wait the 4-6 weeks to get the Mexican wedding cert and then get it translated and all of that - we would have been living apart for a year had that happened.

So, its really a matter of preference and your own situation.  I did feel bad when 1 person told me not to b/c then Mexico would be like a joke - or a lie - I forget their exact words.  So, we kept it to ourselves and that was that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
