    Oh, what to do?
Fabio is who i am guessing you talked to. I have Fay and so far she is polite and quick to respond but we are only on week one together :)

So far so good with Fay! She has been super fast. I hear from her about 24 hours after I email her. She seems really helpful.

I picked mine yesterday and Fay put in for confirmation. We will see how long that confirmation takes

I am at the stage of trying to figure out where our reception will be held. How did you decide or arrive at your selection? Also, have you already had your reception location confirmed by your WC?
I was somewhat limited due to the predicted size of my wedding. 50-75 people. I asked for Plaza Zavaz and Fay put in my request. Fingers crossed!
We are also having a Welcome Party on the beach as well the day before my wedding. She sent me pics of both if you want me to email them to you!

Yes, they give you a beach towel card. You go get a fresh towel whenever you need it.

This is so funny because it’s my biggest complaint too. I get carded 99.999999% of the time… I’m talking about cigarettes, rated R movies etc. I always get a laugh or a scoff too if I’m tryin’ to buy alcohol if I’m not done up to the freakin’ 9’s. It’s really annoying when people tell me I look 19… I don’t WANT to look 19!

I do love saying it! It feels weird whenever I heard it out loud too.

Hmmm I need to find that video… I was searching for smokey eye tutorials because that’s what I wanted on my wedding day. So the video may not be pertinent to what you’re looking for… AH I found it!
silly question... does the resort provide beach towels for everyone? if so, how is it provided?
They do, like Nicole said they give you a towel card and you can get 2 towels a day I think but you have to return them. They charge you like $30 a towel if you don’t return them one of my guests found out. I never used the towel card, I had a swim up suite and just never left the pool, it was too hot to care about a towel and especially when I could just swim back to my room :)

            1) How far away from AS are the local markets/vendors in order to purchase Mexican trinkets and such for the OOT bags? Are they within walking distance or is AS smack dab in the middle of the jungle as I read elsewhere?

            2) When and how did you ladies chose your reception site, especially since they say there are two weddings per day? Did you get to select the site or was it chosen for you based upon your party size? Also, how do they decide which wedding party gets first dibs on the reception site?

I am at the stage of trying to figure out where our reception will be held. How did you decide or arrive at your selection? Also, have you already had your reception location confirmed by your WC?
Well, I had plans to get some local snacks and whatnot when I got to Mexico. Upon arrival you’ll notice that you are literally in the smallest town ever and really in the middle of nowhere. They turn off the main road and drive into the forest and there’s the resort, literally is in the middle of forest. I couldn’t even tell you where the closest vendor or market is. If you wanted to head to Cancun, it’s close to a 25-30 minute drive you could hire a van to take you into town which you could do there easily. I would say nothing is walking distance from the hotel, so don’t plan on hiking it anywhere, LOL :)

I told them where I wanted my reception and requested to reserve it very early in my planning stages. First come first serve I’m pretty sure.

I decided on my reception location because I knew I definitely didn’t want it on the beach and I definitely didn’t want it in an open space. I wanted it more private, more secluded and somewhere I could hang my lanterns and lights etc. After getting confirmed on my wedding day, ceremony spot and reception location was the very first thing I did.

Bigbop - re: the reception site. I knew from the get-go that the private reception was important for us and I was concerned the same way that with possibly 2 weddings/day there might be a conflict. I knew we'd want it outside but prefer NOT the beach. So, I booked Plaza Zavas when I booked my date. I wouldn't provide my deposit to Karisma until I had confirmation that I could have BOTH the ceremony date/time as well as the reception location. It took a long time to get confirmation on it and I was worried I'd lose my date entirely - but it worked out.

Of course now, depending on how big our group gets, it looks like we may have to readjust our planning if we're too large for the space. But I'm not going to worry about that yet. :-)

Ok, you'd THINK I'd be clear on this by this point but I'm still confused. My WC said we (bride&groom) have to book minimum 7 nights in a premium level or higher... plus the additional 15 nights by other guests. ... Is that the same thing others were told? I'm just wanting to be sure we need to book in at that high of a level (because I was originally planning on saving the upgraded room for our honeymoon). I'm not clear if others were told that it makes a difference what level of room they book in themselves.

That is what they told my TA. There is a certain level room at AS you have to get I think it's the Swim up but I would have to check my binder at home. For sure on the 15 rooms!

                    This. Sounds. Awesome.

"Thanks, I don't need a towel. I'm just going to swim home!" hmmmm, makes me wish I was there right now... and DEFINITELY makes me lean more towards the upgrading.

Were you in the premium swim up? Do you recommend?

I am assuming that we have the same WC now. We just received an email from Fabio saying that Cecile is no longer with the company and we now have Maria Fay.

Okay, thanks for that info! I wanted to add some local flavor to our guests OOT bags, but if it will be complicated to get around to purchase some, I will just move along to plan B or C. :-)
Oh and I know you have probably answered this a gazillion times, but can you tell me which location you held your reception in? What your describing sounds similar to the feel we are seeking.

That was a good idea! I wasn't even that forward thinking when we booked. I figured it would all work itself out but now that I am beginning to think about decorations and paper lanterns, I'm trying to decide where we will hold ours so that I don't make a bunch of unnecessary purchases. There is a wedding one hour after ours and as kind as I'd like to be, I want for choice! :-)

Yes, I was told that to qualify for the free package our room had to be a Premium room or higher. I am having our TA run the room price comparisons as we speak because we also booked our wedding within 10 days of participating in the webinar and now qualify for a free room upgrade, whatever that may be!

Our TA said you have to book 7 nights in the premium suite or higher and the additional 15 nights of guests booked in any class of rooms.
