Question for everyone.....what did FI do during the planning process? I like being involved in everything ( I like making the calls..emails...the forums...looking things up) but I am NOT Type A at all...the other day he asks what he can do...and I was kind of t a blank...I let hom start looking for clothes for him and GMs...what else are "safe" things for him to do?

Hi... I was in New Orleans for work for the past few days. So much to catch up!

We are thinking of maybe going to Cozumel for the second week...but still totally up in the air....
We are staying 10 days at AS. You have to be at the resort 3 days (require days change depends on if you are having a legal marriage or symbolic marriage) before the wedding date - and weekends do not count!

We LOVE Cozumel. We are actually planning to take the ferry to go over to Cozumel for some scuba diving. I don't think Cozumel is as nice as Riviera Maya area - hotel and food wise.

Most of our guests are staying 3-4 nights but Darryl's Bestman and his finance are staying for 7 days with us. We are very excited to hangout with them after our wedding!

For us.. honeymoon is little bit over rated. We don't get to see our friends and family very often (we are in Houston and everyone else is in east coast) so we want to have a big party!

OK, so I finished my planning thread. It doesn't really flow but whatever, I could only look at it for so long - plus I wanted to get it done before I got my pro pics - b/c then I have to write the wedding review. Phew so much to do :)

So, here it is:

Have a great day!

WOW... LOVE your FI ring. so unique and different. We've been dating for 9 years and we are finally getting married. We also always says we are too young to get married and now here we are after 9 years :)

Awesome job on the planning thread. I am going to read more after this.

I really don't have anything else to do with the resort now. All my details have been finalized for about a month. Too bad the change didn't come earlier, but I really didn't have any problems with Tiffany though.

I basically just ask his opinion on some things here and there and I told him he can pick out his shirts and pants for himself and the groomsmen. I also have him picking out the gifts for our parents and his brother (Who is his BM)

Also he is very excited about the Donkey and has come up with a scavengar hunt photo contest idea (Again I just let him roll with it) He wants to get little stuffed donkeys to put in the OOT bags with a list of pictures you have to get of the stuffed donkey doing silly things. For Example: Donkey with a beer, Donkey on a random strangers chair while they are sunbathing, donkey at dinner, Donkey with the live donkey etc etc. The everyone will send us their pics after we all get back and we will crown a winner. Again His idea and I thought it might entertain people and they could have some fun with it. AHHH my FI cracks me up sometimes.

Mine did absolutely nothing!!!!! LOL But if he's asking for something to do, having him pick out things for him and the groomsmen is good. I can't think of anything else.

My FI has actually been speaking with Fabio during the whole construction questioning issue and was great. Also we are looking at invites this weekend but I am going to pre-select some and then let him help make final decisions. That strategy works well for us. I narrow things down and then let him pick.

Also the menu is probably a good thing to let him help with

I like the 1st one better but we'll probably use the second for chapsticks and things like that.
I like them both!!! The top one reminds me of my invitations alot. I love the map idea! I like the second one for on things!

Waldorf isn't far from me at all. The picture is from my bridal shower and I actually got the dress from David's Bridal in Waldorf!

Is the bride/groom stay free thing still available? I'm not sure if I qualify (Canadian thing again) but if it's still around I'll definitely ask because we have more than 16 rooms I'm sure!

Carolina just told us that to get the Free Sweet Wedding package we have to have have the 15 additional room nights book in the same category room as us (ie. premium suite or higher as required for the bride and groom's 7 night stay). I don't think this is what it actually says on the package so I've asked her for clarification. Otherwise I'll have to wait to see what other guests are booking to know if we even qualify?!?!

Here's what she said about the chairs (I asked in bullets and her replies follow in italics):

* First off, the Pearl package says that it includes uncovered ceremony chairs. And it refers to the maximum group capacity as 40 people. I read this to mean that up to 40 uncovered chairs are included and any more are additional. The 40 refers to the restaurant restrictions, I havenâ€t seen that thereâ€s a limit to the chairs
* As well, if we wanted them covered that is an additional charge (I do not think we do want covered at this point but may consider it down the line). Yes, if you would like to cover them it is an additional $12 with the white cover and white bow..for a colored bow Itâ€s an extra $4
* Will these chairs be moved to our reception area after the ceremony? Is there an additional cost for this? A "reception set-up fee" so to speak if you plan on having a private reception, then the cost of the menu includes the chairs and tables

Ok I read that as you can have as many chairs as you want for free (I think that mightbe wishful thinking)
ALSO SWEET on the chairs and tables coming with the private events! PErfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
