Loved the theme - how cute!!!! You look like a blushing bride to be!

Oh thank you! Doing things early kept me sane in the month leading up to the wedding.

It was OK to walk on it but it was a little jittery... Like the slats would move around as I walked on it. If you are a talented high heels wearer, you could totally do it. I suck in high heels so I wore wedges. 1/2 of my BM's went barefoot.

I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life.
Wasn't your Mom being very supportive before? That sucks that you have to deal with this amidst planning what should be your most fun party ever! I hope that things get straightened out - good for you for taking time to your self and reflecting.

(Not ready to buy a dress cause I have a million pounds to lose, and I don't really want to buy OOT stuff yet because no clue how many people are coming....)
I would definitely do an inspiration board/book so you can hit the ground running when you're ready. I googled everything I wanted before hand and can't find some of the stuff now. Plus, if you find what you want now you can search places like Google Shopping, Etsy and Ebay to find it cheaper or a lower cost alternative. For now, I would start gathering what you like with websites, shipping cost, prices and delivery time now so you have that info at your fingertips. Are you having a bridal party? If so, you may want to start picking out their stuff now so they know how much they need to save up.

I feel kind of bad though because I didn't want to spend a lot on the bag so the bags I ended up getting are soooooo cheesy! LOL At this point though I don't have the energy to try to find anything better so hopefully they'll pay more attention to what's in the bag instead of the bag themselves. FI wants to go room to room to hand out the bags as people arrive. At the reception we're giving cigars to the men and fans to the women.
I hope you do a planning thread!! Some of the things you're including in your bags are things I'm looking for now. As far as your bags go, I'd say if you're up to it check out Dollar Tree and if not, they'll be happy with what you give them. I wouldn't stress out about that.

Does anyone have the list of "extras" to add to the wedding packages...for some reason I can't find that or the spa prices...
          Look on Lomas Travel website

If you book 15 rooms you get the 16th free for you and your groom. I'm not sure what the cut off date was for it being offered. Sorry.

I've been having some bad times in Houston so my life is a complete mess... like yesterday my car was towed in my own apartment parking garage. We have a place to unload and load stuff and less than an hour period a tow truck took my car! the apartment started to let them come in and out as they please and without a second thought they will tow your car. I was furious!!! I came out to my car to go out to the gym and I couldn't find my car. I thought it was stolen!
I am so glad that I am back on this forum and start more focusing on the wedding stuff. I have so much to share and so much to talk about... I am about to start :)

Welcome back Chong! Sorry to hear about your bad luck lately. Hopefully everything will get better.

ANy advice would be great :)
Well, there's no easy way to do this and there's not way to do this and keep everyone happy, just be prepared for that.

It took me a long time to realize that you can't and won't make everyone happy. So it's your wedding, if you don't want to invite people, don't invite them, plain and simple. If people ask, just let them know that your budget affords a smaller wedding and unfortunately you can't afford to have everyone there that you'd like. I would be perfectly honest and if you need to explain further (which you shouldn't, it's YOUR wedding) just tell them, it's his first marriage and his family is the priority due to finances.

I was actually yelled at by a "friend" at a bar for not inviting her to my wedding, we've never been close and we don't ever hang out. I told her I really only invited people who I thought would come and I just didn't think she'd come or be too interested as we wanted to keep it small and intimate. I then told her, if she would like to come, she's more than welcome to which she responded, "well NO, I'm not going to come but you should've invited me!" Yikes. Well, needless to say, I'm really glad I didn't invite her.

I'm hoping that by the time my wedding comes around..they might even have more :)

I'm thinking an inspiration board is a really good idea....I did one right before the new year (not for wedding planning...but there was an engagement ring and some bride-y things) and most everything on it hs come true so far :)

I keep going back and forth on bridal party...because I originally asked 3 girls when we were planning an at home wedding...now that it is destination..I am sure of only 1 of the girls...is it ok to pin down the other 2 and see if they are for sure this far out?

I know you B2B's don't want to stray from wedding talk but if you don't mind indulging me, what do you all do for work?

I know what Amanda does but that's about it!

Most of my family is out of town (at least all the cousins) and I can't see any of them actually GOING to the wedding if invited...but I don't want to chance it...I literally just sent out an email a few days ago to get addresses and then FI tells me today that we should cut back...which I totally agree with...but I wish he would have said this last week :)

Is an email saying you're uninvited rude or do I just let it play out and deal with it when I have to? FI wants to post something on our website saying we have decided to go with just immediate family and bridal party..is that ok or super tacky? I think it's a combination of both :)
