Any thoughts?
A big welcome4.gif to another AB bride!!! You made a fabulous choice!

I second amyb's thoughts that you definitely run the risk of not having enough rooms. The only way to avoid that is to get a group contract through your TA that sets aside a block of rooms. That has its drawbacks, though, in that a deposit on all the rooms is due a month after signing your contract. Either you have to put down the deposit yourself or you have to get your guests to commit by putting down a deposit. But, it's the only sure-fire way to have enough rooms.

Both the Blue International Restaurant and the Blue Terrace could accommodate your reception. The only place that would accommodate that many people for the ceremony is the beach.

Are you sure you're having 90 guests or is that the number you're inviting?

PS - I just read that its a bannable offense to ask someone to email you something b/c you dont have enough posts to open an attachment. I am not sure if you PM the person if its still bannable. The rules are listed here:

Ooooh, thanks. I guess I should read the rules smile35.gif

I feel like a lurker sometimes too especially if I haven't been able to check any posts in a while so I finally got tired of not being able to download attachments and paid the $25!!! It's worth it so you don't have to wait, but I need to post more often toopinkie.gif

I chose the donkey cocktail hour with 5 of the food selections. I hope people are not full! I think I remember hearing, food is served for 1 hour and drinks are for 2 hours.

Oh, not sure anyone else has children attending their wedding, but they offer a children's menu and they don't charge you for the kids' meals.

Thanks for mentioning that about the kids. My WC and I went back and forth the other day because they are trying to charge me half price for my 4 yr old flower girl to eat at the wedding. If we do the surf and turf that will be $14 for her and she'll be fine with chicken nuggets and fries. Ugh! Once again something that I wasn't offered.

Yeah, there's a lot I'm missing out on. I'll probably pay the $25 too. I was lurking for like 2 months! Guess I should have said something huh?

Thanks for the info on the kids! YOu may have said this before, but where are you having the cocktail reception and where are you having the dinner reception? Kiara just sent me my options and I am trying to get a sense of what the best places are - we are doing the Donkey cocktail hour and the surf and turf dinner. I did hear that Zavas Plaza was good to block the wind for the chillier nights and since we our wedding is in December that may be the way to go but we will have around 25-30 people and I am not sure if that area is too big? Is it better to have them in two different spots? Thanks!

Ha, ha! I just realized that I was missing out on too many and didn't want to keep having to go back to posts I had already read (of course I may have to do that anyway since there is so much freakin' information on here I can't keep it all straight!) I know it will be worth it in the long run, right?

I know the resort have shows and everything.. so maybe something exciting is happening on Sat night at the resort to have everyone go see :)

I see that you only got few more days before the big day. I am sooo jealous. Wish I was getting marry soon :) Congratulations!!!
Thanks! Yes it is so exciting and rewarding that my time is finally here! I am excited that that there are so many new Azul brides on this thread too - makes it fun to relive all that planning again.

My kids were all 3 or younger; that should not make a difference - really - what kid needs surf & turf - LOL! But I would request the kids menu instead. I was only offered the kids menu a week or so ago. I think they forget to tell you things until you get right down to it.... So glad you found this forum, huh!??!!

I am getting married at Azul beach so my options differ. However, I am having my cocktails at the Wave Lounge and dinner at the Blue Terrace - because I want my guests to all leave the cocktail reception, find their name cards, and sit down so that my HUSBAND and I can get introduced going into the reception area. I figure that 1/2 hour will be when FI and I go have our pictures taken, just the 2 of us.

Is that how you did it Wendy? I know you had more time b/c you brought your photog down, but how did you picture schedule go?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
